An Evil Spirit from the LORD Bothered Saul

In this episode of the History of Israel, we invite a new character onto the scene. On the other side of the kingdom, the Spirit of the LORD departed from Saul, and an evil spirit from the LORD bothered him the rest of his days.

Enter David!

An excellent harp player, and a formidable warrior, he was recruited by Saul’s servants to play the harp whenever an evil spirit came upon Saul. Music is a medicine and a soother of sorts, and this is why people love concerts and have headphones on as they gear for events.

David quickly moved from house musician to lead general with one bold move. The Philistines were still messing with Saul and Israel. The came over against them again, however, no one would go out to battle.

Both sides stayed in the mountains separated by a valley, the valley of Elah. The next thing that happened would change the course of young David’s life forever (as well as everyone associated with him). To be continued…!
