Deuteronomy chapter 29 summary starts with Moses once again. The spokesperson for the nation proclaimed the words of the covenant of God to the children of Israel. This was a separate covenant than the one made in Horeb.
This one was made in the land of Moab. Moses reminded them of God’s great works in Egypt. However, they have not yet the heart to understand what God was doing for them. Their shoes are like new and the clothing has not grown dingy after forty years traveling and wandering in the wilderness.
They have taken land from strong kings like it wasn’t anything to them; so Moses commanded them to remember God and the words of this covenant so they prosper in all they do. This covenant was made with Israel and their children to have God as their God and King.
Deuteronomy Chapter 29 Summary
They are not to wander away from God and believe they will have peace. There is no peace when they do all the imaginations of their own heart. The Lord will curse that man with all the curses written in this book so people know that such a man has rebelled against His God.
His life will resemble that of someone who has forsaken the holy covenant. The chapter concludes with the revelation that the secret things of the world belong to God; however, the things God chooses to reveal to the children of Israel and their children are ours forever.
All this is done so Israel (and all people), may do all the words of this law. And this is the summary of Deuteronomy chapter 29.
