Welcome to our chapter summaries, this is Genesis chapter 25 summary. Here in chapter 25 of Genesis, after the death of Sarah, Abraham remarried. She was a woman named Keturah. In this marriage, Abraham and Keturah have six children together. Here are some of the names of the sons of Abraham; Zimran, Jokshan, Midian, Sheba, Dedan, and Asshurim.

With these additional sons, Abraham still passed the blessings and covenant to his son Isaac. In this chapter, Abraham died at the age of 175, full of years and was buried next to Sarah, his wife. Abraham was careful to send these sons away from Isaac who possessed the major portion of the inheritance.

The chapter then goes into the offspring of Ishmael. The generations of Ishmael and Isaac are listed. Ishmael the son of Abraham and Hagar, the Egyptian; and Ishmael had twelve sons. Ishmael lived in the east on the way to Asshur and died at 137 years of age.

The chapter then goes into the story of the birth of Jacob and Esau. The two fought there way out of the womb. As they grew, Isaac loved Esau, but Rebekah loved Jacob. Not the best parenting right there, but that’s neither here nor there. One day Jacob hustled his brother Esau into selling him his birthright.

It was a hungry day for Esau, and Jacob got Esau who made the transaction. Thus it is written, Esau despised his birthright. This is Genesis chapter 25 summary!
