In the Days of These Kings Jesus Will Set Up a Kingdom on the Earth

Welcome to Bible Study Ministry online, below is a Bible study is titled, “In the Days of These Kings.” A few months ago I put out a survey that asked newsletter members what types of lessons, studies, chapter reviews, or subjects in the Bible were of most interest and necessity to learn.

One of the responses was, “Is the world going to end soon?” I hope that was a not a plea to have the world end soon, but it is the basis of today’s study. To answer that question briefly the world is not going end period.

The Father and Jesus (the Son) both live forever; and in the book of Isaiah Jesus proclaimed He created the earth to be inhabited forever. Nevertheless, the world as we know it will end. The powers will be transferred from mankind to God. From the hands of mortals to immortals!

In the days of these kings, angels and humans …

The earth will be inhabited by angels and immortals alongside with humans for a thousand years. As you can gather, things will be remarkably different. Let’s begin by reading where the disciples asked Jesus the very same question.

Matthew 24:

And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?

And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.

Jesus’ disciples asked him what will be the sign of His coming and of the end of the world. Jesus first response was to make sure they nor we today are deceived! We need not be deceived concerning this matter and concerning the Word of God.

Next, Jesus began to share events we need to watch out for as telltale signs of the end of the world and His coming. We’ll look at a few. We all should be able to recognize some of these. Beginning at verse five Jesus says, many people will profess that Jesus is the Christ, but will still deceive many because of false doctrine.

In addition, we will hear of wars and rumors of end of the world type wars. We’ll see nation rise against nation. We’ll witness famines, diseases in large proportions, massive and plenty of earthquakes in different places. These are just the beginning of sorrows (v5-8).

Jesus then warns of persecution for His names’ sake! Many people will be offended by the teachings of Jesus. Nevertheless, if we endure until the end, we will be save.

To be saved one must endure… In the Days of These Kings

Finally this gospel of Jesus (and we’re talking the true gospel) must be taught and shared as a witness to all nations. The true gospel teaches the keeping of God’s commandments and believing the testimony of Jesus Christ. It is at this time the end will come.

Let’s get ready to marinate on verse fifteen. It is here a HUGE sign and warning was given to the world. This warning is so strong even blind and deaf people will see and hear. Read below:

15 When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)

21 For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.

When the abomination of desolation Daniel the prophet wrote about, stands in the Holy place (if you’re reading this you better understand this), flee to the mountains Jesus declares (especially if you are in Judaea).

This warning is so urgent that Jesus dares not for us to go into the home to get anything if they are outside the house when they hear the news. If you’re at work you should not even go home to get any belongings.

The reason being is that then there will be great tribulation in the earth like there never has been before. Who is the abomination of desolation? We’re going to study him soon because it was one of the requests to be studied, but let’s take a peek at what Daniel the prophet wrote.

The abomination will appear in the days of these kings…

Daniel chapter 11:

This is the chapter that talks about this abomination of desolation).

31 And arms shall stand on his part, and they shall pollute the sanctuary of strength, and shall take away the daily sacrifice, and they shall place the abomination that maketh desolate.

The abomination that makes desolate will have the military power who will stand on his part. There will be a sanctuary built where there will be a daily animal sacrifice. The abomination of desolation will stop this practice and will be placed into the sanctuary or temple.

This religious man is going to leave one geographical headquarter but will be placed in a new one, the Holy Place. The Holy place in the Bible is Zion or Jerusalem.

…In the days of these kings, many people will be jailed and killed…

The reason why there will be great tribulation in those days is because this religious ruler is going to force people to serve him as god. People that understand the Word of God, who see and know the truth, will teach and instruct others who do not. Nevertheless, many people will be killed or go into captivity/jailed many days.

This will be so because of rebellion. If people do not follow the abomination of desolation, double is coming. Teach others and exposing the abomination is a death desire. This religious leader is a ruler, and he will do his will (not God’s will). He will exalt and magnify himself above every god. The man of sin will speak amazingly blasphemous words against the Father and Jesus. He will prosper in this until his time is over.

33 And they that understand among the people shall instruct many: yet they shall fall by the sword, and by flame, by captivity, and by spoil, many days.

36 And the king shall do according to his will; and he shall exalt himself, and magnify himself above every god, and shall speak marvellous things against the God of gods, and shall prosper till the indignation be accomplished: for that that is determined shall be done.

37 Neither shall he regard the God of his fathers, nor the desire of women, nor regard any god: for he shall magnify himself above all.

The man of sin is revealed in the days of these kings…

The abomination of desolation does not and will not regard even the God of his own fathers. The pagan gods his father served he will relinquish, and he will have no desire of women. Halle Berry and all the models of the world could not get his attention.

His goal is to rule and magnify himself above everything and everyone, even Jesus Christ Himself. Paul wrote about the abomination of desolation. Paul called him the man of sin. Let us see what Paul said about him.

2nd Thessalonians chapter 2

In this chapter, Paul is trying to put our spiritual eyes on to let us know about someone who must come FIRST before the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ (which will be the sign of the end of the world or age).

First things first, we are not to be shaken that Jesus can return at any time; do not be deceived by any means that this can happen. There first must be a falling away from the Word of God. Then the man of sin needs to reveal himself.

the mystery of iniquity is already at work…

Who is the man of sin? He opposes all things of God and exalts himself. Finally he will sit in the Temple of God making himself to the world that he is God. Paul wrote this over two-thousand years ago. God is revealing this to His children beforehand so they can act and act on faith.

Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.

This man and his organization is already at work (mystery of iniquity). They are planning harshly and deceptively to take over the world. According to the Bible, they are going to accomplish this, but only for a short period.

When the son of perdition (abomination of desolation or the Wicked One) is revealed, he will cause so much trouble the Lord will return and consume him, himself. This wicked man operates out of the power of Satan. He has lying wonders and witchcraft to deceive as many people as he can before the Lord crushes him.

What do we have so far?

  1. We have a temple being built for “God” where the people are administering the daily animal sacrifice.
  2. We have the abomination of desolation being placed in the temple
  3. And we have the abomination of desolation showing himself as God and deceiving people.
What is next?

Daniel chapter 2

Daniel was brought in to first recall a dream of King Nebuchadnezzar, and then interpret the meaning of the dream. This dream provided the world ruler-ship from King Nebuchadnezzar all the way down to the coming of the Lord Jesus. Daniel’s dream.

31 Thou, O king, sawest, and behold a great image. This great image, whose brightness was excellent, stood before thee; and the form thereof was terrible.

32 This image’s head was of fine gold, his breast and his arms of silver, his belly and his thighs of brass,

33 His legs of iron, his feet part of iron and part of clay.

34 Thou sawest till that a stone was cut out without hands, which smote the image upon his feet that were of iron and clay, and brake them to pieces.

35 Then was the iron, the clay, the brass, the silver, and the gold, broken to pieces together, and became like the chaff of the summer threshingfloors; and the wind carried them away, that no place was found for them: and the stone that smote the image became a great mountain, and filled the whole earth.

Daniel saw a great image bright and excellent, but very dreadful and scary. It had a head of fine gold, breast and arms of silver, belly and thighs of brass, legs and feet part iron and part clay.

Current Event: The Good Friday Hiccup

In the dream, Nebuchadnezzar saw a stone cut without hands hit the image on its feet. It broke the entire image to pieces. The wind carried it way and the stone that hit the image became a great mountain. It filled the entire earth. Daniel will interpret the dream:

Daniel’s dream is really something…

36 This is the dream; and we will tell the interpretation thereof before the king.

37 Thou, O king, art a king of kings: for the God of heaven hath given thee a kingdom, power, and strength, and glory.

Nebuchadnezzar is a king over many kings and Jesus Christ has given him a kingdom full of power strength and glory.

38 And wheresoever the children of men dwell, the beasts of the field and the fowls of the heaven hath he given into thine hand, and hath made thee ruler over them all. Thou art this head of gold.

Jesus has given Nebuchadnezzar rule over all men, animals, birds, and beast of the sea. In this dream Nebuchadnezzar saw a big image, his kingdom was the head on the image, which was solid gold.

39 And after thee shall arise another kingdom inferior to thee, and another third kingdom of brass, which shall bear rule over all the earth.

After Babylon, Nebuchadnezzar’s kingdom, another kingdom will rise up and be inferior to his kingdom. They are inferior in riches splendor and glory. They are represented in the image as silver. This is the Medo-Persian kingdom, which according to history books followed Babylon in world domination. After the silver was the brass, this is Greece with Alexander the Great.

the Kingdom shall be partly strong, and partly broken…

40 And the fourth kingdom shall be strong as iron: forasmuch as iron breaketh in pieces and subdueth all things: and as iron that breaketh all these, shall it break in pieces and bruise.

The fourth kingdom is Rome. Rome is a strong kingdom, as strong as iron and they lingered on for a very long time. They began as the Roman Empire, but became the Holy Roman Empire

41 And whereas thou sawest the feet and toes, part of potters’ clay, and part of iron, the kingdom shall be divided; but there shall be in it of the strength of the iron, forasmuch as thou sawest the iron mixed with miry clay.

42 And as the toes of the feet were part of iron, and part of clay, so the kingdom shall be partly strong, and partly broken.

43 And whereas thou sawest iron mixed with miry clay, they shall mingle themselves with the seed of men: but they shall not cleave one to another, even as iron is not mixed with clay.

As the image goes from head to foot, the feet and toes are partly clay and partly iron. The kingdom is divided but the strength of it is in the iron (Rome). They are mingled together, the weaker nations with the stronger nations.

In the days of these kings

These nations are somewhat like the United Nations (a bunch of nations clumped together some stronger than others). They have their own independent rulers but they join together to be one nation.

44 And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever.

In the days of these kings, Jesus (the God of Heaven) will set up a kingdom

In the days of these kings, Jesus the Messiah and Lord (the God of Heaven) will set up a kingdom. His Kingdom will never be destroyed. It will not pass onto another and it will utterly break in pieces all of the kingdoms before it. Jesus kingdom will stand forever.

45 Forasmuch as thou sawest that the stone was cut out of the mountain without hands, and that it brake in pieces the iron, the brass, the clay, the silver, and the gold; the great God hath made known to the king what shall come to pass hereafter: and the dream is certain, and the interpretation thereof sure.

In Nebuchadnezzar’s dream, he saw a stone cut out of a mountain. The stone dropped on the toes breaking the iron, brass, clay, silver, and gold. It then made itself into a great mountain or government on the earth.

The important thing to remember here is that in the days of these kings, the God of Heaven will set up a kingdom on the earth. This dream was certain and the interpretation of it was sure.

European Nations and the Treaties of Rome!

We talked about the United Nations, but they are not the party of interest. In the image we had Babylon, Medo-Persia, Greece, and Rome. Rome still rules today under a different name. In fact, they have died and resurrected nine times. The tenth and final time is coming in the form of what many scholars and pastors believe to be the European Union.

Research has shown a nation can join the European Union (EU) by signing a treaty. After all the red tape and hoopla; each nation must sign the Treaties of Rome. In order to become officially inaugurated into the EU, this treaty. The EU has a solid forefront of nations they call The Ten. All additional nations who join will be underneath the TEN.

They are also getting close to having an official ruler. The current world rulers have already identified their currency, military, and policies. They are working to set an official religion. The religion of choice sits in the middle of Rome.

The Vatican and the Catholics, will be their official religion. These kings will join with the religious leader, and dominate the world (beginning the great tribulation).

Revelation chapter 13

European Union league of nations
European Union Nations Flag

In chapter 13 of Revelation, John saw a beast rise out of the people. The beast had seven heads and ten horns. Satan, the dragon, gave the beast its power, seat, and great authority.

The beast is the government side, the EU. However in verse five, there was another beast with a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies against God. He had three and a half years to speak these blasphemies.

He made war with the saints of God and with many non-conforming others. This sparked a world-wide battle. This battle would destroy all men if Jesus does not intervene.

Is the world going to end soon? No man knows for sure, but we have many signs pointing to yes. The Jewish people getting ready to do the animal sacrifice. The abomination that makes desolate and his organization are preparing to move their headquarters to Jerusalem (the Holy place).

We have the ten nations setting up complete power, and in the days of these kings, we have to remember the prophecy by Daniel; the Lord Jesus will set up a kingdom on the earth.

Coming in for a Landing…

I’ll end by going back to Matthew 24 to hear the Master conclude and give final words of admonition:

Jesus says immediately AFTER the tribulation of those days, He will return. His return will cause the sun to be darkened and the moon to stop shining and heavens will go through big changes.

There will appear the sign of the Son of Man (Jesus). He will come with great power and great glory, with His angels. His angel will collect His elect from all over the earth. We can read that in verses twenty-nine through thirty-one.

29 Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:

30 And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.

31 And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

A Parable!

Now hear a parable. When we see the leaves grow on a tree after the winter season, we know that spring and summer is near. This is the same way we are to know that the end of the world or the return of Jesus is near, by watching all the signs.

32 Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh:

33 So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors.

34 Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.

35 Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.

Jesus tells us, this generation will not pass. What generation? The generation that sees all these things, the reformation of Rome, the abomination of desolation, and the persecution of saints; those that see all these things will not pass until all is fulfilled.

Jesus words will not pass away or fall void. The question, is the world going to end soon? Well, if you are living in the days of these kings; the next change is not President Obama. The next change in world power and government is Jesus Christ, the Righteous, and the Lord.
