Homosexuality and Christianity Do They Have A Union?

The question is, is gay marriage biblical or does homosexuality and Christianity have any real union? In the evolution of Christianity, gay civil unions or marriages appears to be okay. If we can accept many of the changes the world is going through and adopting, it appears we should be able to accept this. A man who wants to marry another man and a woman who wants to marry another woman in civil matrimony.

Nevertheless, when we decide to stop doing the thinking and allow the God of Heaven and Earth, the God of the Bible, to lay in and give His command on the topic; it is a whole new ball game. According to the scriptures, homosexuality and Christianity do not have any union; and people of that fellowship are not accepted by the God of Israel, according to the scripture.

We’re going to take our time and visit a few scriptures that support what we’re teaching, and that is the Word of God and we’re going to handle it accordingly. Let us begin with Moses and the priest of God giving the ordinance, statues, and judgments about plenty of things.

Let’s look at Leviticus chapter twenty and we’ll read one verse:

10 And the man that committeth adultery with another man’s wife, even he that committeth adultery with his neighbour’s wife, the adulterer and the adulteress shall surely be put to death.

13 If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.

A man that commits adultery with another man’s wife is one sin. But to lie with another man as he does with woman, is an abomination and both shall be put to death. This is plain, the adulterous and the homosexual have the same punishment.

Can Homosexuality and Christianity Exist Together?

Leviticus 18

22 Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.

24 Defile not ye yourselves in any of these things: for in all these the nations are defiled which I cast out before you:

25 And the land is defiled: therefore I do visit the iniquity thereof upon it, and the land itself vomiteth out her inhabitants.

30 Therefore shall ye keep mine ordinance, that ye commit not any one of these abominable customs, which were committed before you, and that ye defile not yourselves therein: I am the Lord your God.

Part of the reason that the nations that were in the land were thrown out of the land was because of their homosexual behavior and acts. They allowed and condoned men marrying men and women marrying women. It says in verse twenty-two that this should not be done and that it is an abomination. If God removed people from His land for this in the past, God is not one that will change.

Throughout the history of the children of Israel through their chronicles of their kings, the seers that kept record let us know who were bad and good kings over the nation. I want to highlight just two to show what God considered a good king and what they did, and what God considered a bad king and what they did.

1st Kings 14

21 And Rehoboam the son of Solomon reigned in Judah. Rehoboam was forty and one years old when he began to reign, and he reigned seventeen years in Jerusalem, the city which the Lord did choose out of all the tribes of Israel, to put his name there. And his mother’s name was Naamah an Ammonitess.

22 And Judah did evil in the sight of the Lord, and they provoked him to jealousy with their sins which they had committed, above all that their fathers had done.

23 For they also built them high places, and images, and groves, on every high hill, and under every green tree.

24 And there were also sodomites in the land: and they did according to all the abominations of the nations which the Lord cast out before the children of Israel.

This is Solomon’s son Rehoboam, and he reign for seventeen years in Jerusalem, but he was reported to be an evil king in the sight of the LORD. He provoked God in many ways, one being his promotion of idol worship, but also he allowed and permitted “sodomites” in the land.

Sodomites are termed for those men lying with men from Sodom and Gomorrah. They were called sodomites for short. Today’s dictionary definition of a sodomite is: one who performs sodomy; and sodomy is when a two people of the same sex have sexual intercourse.

He was a bad king among many reasons; one highlighted is that he allowed sodomites in the land while he ruled. Let’s look at a good king.

1st Kings 15

And Abijam slept with his fathers; and they buried him in the city of David: and Asa his son reigned in his stead.

And in the twentieth year of Jeroboam king of Israel reigned Asa over Judah.

10 And forty and one years reigned he in Jerusalem. And his mother’s name was Maachah, the daughter of Abishalom.

11 And Asa did that which was right in the eyes of the Lord, as did David his father.

12 And he took away the sodomites out of the land, and removed all the idols that his fathers had made.

Abijam was a bad king, but his son Asa was a good king. Asa ruled over Judah for forty years and did right in the eyes of the LORD. First thing it mentions he did was take away the sodomites from living in the land. He also removed all idols and idol worship, but he removed the sodomites (homosexuals).

This is Old Testament and I understand this, but let us visit a prominent writer in the New Testament. And I want our readers to understand this is no attack on gays and lesbian. This is not attack on the homosexual community.

We associate with all people, adulterers, gays, thieves, heck I even know a few killers, and if anyone of these people send a question to BibleStudyMinistry.com asking, “will God accept me if I continue to kill people?” the answer is NO!

If anyone continues to be an adulterous person, homosexual, thief, or murderer, GOD WILL NOT ACCEPT you until you repent and modify your ways to what He wants. Now this is according to scripture; if you want a personal opinion that is a different story.

Let’s look at what Paul thought about the subject:

Romans chapter 1

18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;

19 Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them.

20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:

21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.

22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,

No One Can Mix Homosexuality and Christianity Biblically Speaking

God shows you his truth in His Word; we read in His Word that man shall not lie with man as he does with woman. When someone reads this and knows it is there and completely ignores it they are holding the truth in unrighteousness.

When anyone learns the truth of God they are endowed with the truth. By truth we’re not speaking of popular modern day Christianity. Instead, we’re speaking of what the Bible says about subjects.

Nevertheless, if they continue in the manner in which they walked before they are holding the truth in unrighteousness. And God will do things to people He reveals His truth towards and they do nothing with it.

Did Paul Write Vile Affections?

24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:

26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:

27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.

Because of this God gave them up to do the uncleanness through their lust of their own minds and to dishonor their own bodies. He gave them up to perform vile (repulsive) affections, leaving their natural use and going against nature.

Nature is that man and women join together to make a baby. Man and women affectionately get intimate with each other. In the animal kingdom there are no occurrences of two male horses intimately getting together, because that goes against nature.

Because of holding the truth in unrighteousness, the men have also left the natural use of women instead going towards men and men which is unseemly and indecent and in error. This is a result of ignoring the God of Israel.

Reprobate Minds Destroy People

From this the God of Israel gave them over to a reprobate mind; no matter what anyone shows someone with a reprobate mind, they will not see it and neither will they change. Reprobate mind is what Pharaoh had when the plagues were destroying his country and he could not come to grips to simply let these people out of his country.

28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;

29 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,

30 Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,

31 Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:

32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

Men with men and women with women in a marriage, civil union, or sexual act is not convenient. These people become filled with unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, and a bunch of things Paul lists in this chapter.

They are covenant breakers; they have no natural affection, are unmerciful themselves, and know the judgment of God, but still have pleasure doing the abominable things.

This is not just for the homosexual; this is for anyone that breaks God’s commandments. There are plenty more scriptures we can show here, but we believe this is enough to let all readers know that homosexuality and Christianity have no civil or spiritual union. Adultery and Christianity have no civil or spiritual union either.

Is Homosexuality a Form of Rebellion?

Politicians and modern preachers and pastors can act like it is okay with the God of Israel (Jesus) but it is not. You see the principles of Christianity can be used to bring peace to an individual on the outward appearance.

They can appear at peace and truly be there; and it is because of this they think they are good to go with God. They have a reprobate mind, so it does not bother the conscious any longer except at a deep down level.

Homosexuality and Christianity do not mix and never will, according to the Bible.
