1 John 2 Bible Study

3
And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.

4He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

5But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him.

John writes that we should avoid sin; but if we accidentally sin against the Father, we have an advocate with the Father who is Jesus Christ. He is the mollification for our sins and the entire worlds and we know that we know Jesus if we keep His commandments.

People that say they know Jesus and they turn around and say they do not have to keep the commandments of God, are liars and the truth of the Word is not in them (v4).

In fact these type of people know Jes1 John 2 Bible Studyus by name; because they know the “other Jesus” Paul warned us about. They do not know the Jesus of this bible, and I say this according to John, a close disciple of Jesus for over three years.

If one says they know Jesus and do not keep His commandments, they are a liar and have no truth in them.

John continues his writing telling us there is no new commandments, just old stuff we should be familiar with because we’ve heard these since the beginning of time. That is that we love each other and that we love God. One still reside in darkness if they hate their brother or sister. That is not the commandment of God, to despise your fellow brother.

John tells why he is writing; he writes the little children because their sins are forgiven them for the LORD’s name sake. He also writes them because they have known the Father. Little children sometime connect so much better with God because they exercise more faith in Him because of their innocence and natural humility. They know and expect things through their parents through the Father.

John writes to the fathers because they have known the LORD from the beginning; the young men because they have overcome the wicked one, Satan. Young men are also very strong and diligent in the Word of God; this is how they overcome the wicked one.

Loving the World

15Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

16For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.

I have come to hate this life and this world we live in because it is full of death, oppression, and hatred for one another, killing, sadness, and jealousy, fake joy in lust and evil things, and pride. Who can love this? You can enjoy your life and be happy God shows you mercy and grants you understanding but how can you love this world?Love for the World

However, if you abide in the Father and His Messiah, you will abide forever. That is the ticket, that is the life you love because you love the Father. This world is going to pass away, but the Father will abide forever.

This chapter ends with warnings; in the last times many people will rise up that deny Jesus directly and some indirectly and imperceptibly. Do you see this going on today in the form of higher consciousness?

There will be one that leads the world into near destruction through strong deception. Those that oppose Jesus are ‘anti-Christ’ they are liars and John tells us that liars deny that Jesus is the Messiah/Christ. They blatantly or ignorantly say Jesus died on Good Friday rising Easter Sunday; and they know it is not possible to get three days and three nights from Friday to Sunday.

1 John 2 Bible Study

This may appear to be a light thing, but Jesus gave proof that He was the Messiah sent from God by the fulfillment of the prophecy sending Him to the grave three days and three nights as Jonah was in the belly of the whale for three days and three nights (Matthew 12 v40). John tells us we know these things and that is why he writes.

Verse twenty-two and twenty-three restates again that the anti-Christ denies the Father and Son as written in Psalm 2 (v2). Here is where real Christianity separates itself from false Christianity, Islam, Judaism, and all religions of the world. If anyone denies Jesus Christ (the Son), they also deny the Father. Every religion, including Judaism, Islam, false Christianity all lack in acknowledgment of the Son, Jesus. Therefore, they also do not acknowledge the Father.

That is a bit of an “ouchy” but we thank God for His mercies!

Holding onto the faith in the Father and Son, we will receive the promise; all of them even eternal life, which is the big goal. So be careful of those that come to seduce you and stay in the anointing of Jesus so that when He appears we all will have confidence and not be shameful because we lost faith and focus. Jesus is righteous and we must stay in His righteousness to be born again at His coming.

God bless you today, thank you for joining us; until next time, peace in Jesus name. Amen

1 John 2 Bible Study

1
My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:

And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.

And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.

He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him.

He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.

Brethren, I write no new commandment unto you, but an old commandment which ye had from the beginning. The old commandment is the word which ye have heard from the beginning.

Again, a new commandment I write unto you, which thing is true in him and in you: because the darkness is past, and the true light now shineth.

He that saith he is in the light, and hateth his brother, is in darkness even until now.

10 He that loveth his brother abideth in the light, and there is none occasion of stumbling in him.

11 But he that hateth his brother is in darkness, and walketh in darkness, and knoweth not whither he goeth, because that darkness hath blinded his eyes.

12 I write unto you, little children, because your sins are forgiven you for his name’s sake.

13 I write unto you, fathers, because ye have known him that is from the beginning. I write unto you, young men, because ye have overcome the wicked one. I write unto you, little children, because ye have known the Father.

14 I have written unto you, fathers, because ye have known him that is from the beginning. I have written unto you, young men, because ye are strong, and the word of God abideth in you, and ye have overcome the wicked one.

15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.

17 And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.

18 Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time.

19 They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us.

20 But ye have an unction from the Holy One, and ye know all things.

21 I have not written unto you because ye know not the truth, but because ye know it, and that no lie is of the truth.

22 Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son.

23 Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also.

24 Let that therefore abide in you, which ye have heard from the beginning. If that which ye have heard from the beginning shall remain in you, ye also shall continue in the Son, and in the Father.

25 And this is the promise that he hath promised us, even eternal life.

26 These things have I written unto you concerning them that seduce you.

27 But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.

28 And now, little children, abide in him; that, when he shall appear, we may have confidence, and not be ashamed before him at his coming.

29 If ye know that he is righteous, ye know that every one that doeth righteousness is born of him.
