Daily Wisdom Bible Study – Whoso Rewardeth Evil for Good

12 Let a bear robbed of her whelps meet a man, rather than a fool in his folly.

It will be better for you to run into a mother bear who has just had her cubs taken from her than to run into a fool wholloing in his foolishness. Why? You actually can pacify a bear by returning the cubs; the fool is already in full intent to continue in folly. Overall, this is an example of how bad it can be to run into a foolish person.

13 Whoso rewardeth evil for good, evil shall not depart from his house.

In first Samuel chapter 3, there is a story of Eli the priest and his wicked sons. They (Eli’s sons) should have been removed from their positions once evil reports were coming to Eli regarding them. Especially after Eli warned them he was hearing the reports of their evil and they refused to be corrected. Because Eli did not correct them (or the situation for the betterment of the people of God), he was indeed rewarding them for their evil, and if you remember the prophecy spoken against Eli, you would remember evil did not depart from his house.

Whoso Rewardeth Evil for Good

When someone is doing evil, do not reward them, neither should you condone or suffer them to continue, if power is in your hands to make a difference.

14 The beginning of strife is as when one letteth out water: therefore leave off contention, before it be meddled with.

Mind your business, especially in situations of strife that have nothing to so with you!

15 He that justifieth the wicked, and he that condemneth the just, even they both are abomination to the Lord.

Justifying the wicked and condemning the just is a favorable practice in the world we live in today. Nevertheless, it is an abomination to the God of Israel to do such behavior. Please refrain!
