The Families and Generations of Japheth

These were the Families and Generations of Ham Japheth. Ham’s sons were Gomer, Magog, Madai, Javan, Tubal, Meshech, and Tiras. Gomer’s sons were Ashkenaz, Riphath, and Togarmah. Javan’s sons were Elishah, Tarshish, Kittim, and Dodanim.

All the people who lived north of the Mediterranean Sea came from these sons of Ham, those south of the Mediterranean Sea came from Japheth. The people separated and went to different countries according to languages, families, and nations.

2 The sons of Japheth; Gomer, and Magog, and Madai, and Javan, and Tubal, and Meshech, and Tiras.

3 And the sons of Gomer; Ashkenaz, and Riphath, and Togarmah.

4 And the sons of Javan; Elishah, and Tarshish, Kittim, and Dodanim.

5 By these were the isles of the Gentiles divided in their lands; every one after his tongue, after their families, in their nations.
