Them Sleeping in the Dust of the Earth

Daniel the prophet of the Lord was beloved by God, I mean God really loved him, the angel sent to Daniel mentioned it twice (Daniel 10:11, 19). God really cared for this guy and showed it in many ways humans tend to feel or believed one loves them.

People tend to feel the love when they are shown a bit of favor, as Daniel was shown. When people are promoted or given good things, as Daniel was, there is a feeling of being loved associated with that.

When people are delivered out of troubles, as Daniel was, and when people are given secrets or inside info or accounts; once again as Daniel was given, we feel loved. These types of things make people feel loved, and this is what the Lord provided Daniel.

Anyhow, with the Lord, we’re talking about the Creator, showing this much love to Daniel, we’d have to reason and deduct that Daniel certainly got the inside scoop, the correct insider accounts about things pertaining to God’s will and intent.

Some of it is mentioned the last chapter of the writing accounts of this great visionary. Daniel had written that at a certain time, Michael (the Lord’s top military angel) will stand up, gesturing a time for war. Michael is the great prince who stands up for the Lord’s people.

The time in which he is standing will be a time of trouble never seen in the world to this date. Nevertheless, Daniel’s people, the Lord’s people, will be delivered; at least all of them who have their names written in the book of the Lamb.

Well, verse two of chapter twelve is what we’re after; Daniel states that many of them that are asleep (dead) in the dust of the earth will awake. Some of them to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.

What Have I to Do with Thee Jesus?

Daniel was told to go his way, rest in the earth like the rest of the saints who went the way of their fathers, and at the end, Daniel will stand in his lot at the end of the days.

What does this all mean to Christians?

Well, very important is that when anyone dies, they return to the dust or dirt. It is the process, it is the Lord’s order. But it is only temporary, until the time is fulfilled, it is a short time to those who sleep, but it is the way written in the Bible.

At the return of the Lord, many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake. This reasons that they are not awake now, nor are they in heaven now. When someone dies, they join those sleeping in the dust of the earth, until the appointed time.
