Originally as I was reading this chapter, my mind kept bouncing over to Revelation chapter 21. I just kept thinking of how similar this chapter sounds to that of Revelation 21.

As I continued to read, with my mind bouncing back and forth, I get to the end of the chapter and was just in amazement. The beauty of the Word of God.
In Ezekiel chapter 48, the last chapter of Ezekiel, this verse is dropped and it also bounced my mind to another scripture. Let’s look at Ezekiel 48 first:
35 It was round about eighteen thousand measures: and the name of the city from that day shall be, The Lord is there.
This chapter is describing the Temple and how the city of God will be in Jesus kingdom. What jumped off the page to me is probably what jumped off the page for you, the name of the city from that day shall be, The Lord is there.
What does that remind you of?
This is what it reminded me of. Turn over to Isaiah chapter 7
14 Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.
We all can remember this prophecy given to Ahaz king of Judah, and if you need refreshing of what Immanuel means, why don’t we go to the book of Matthew for refreshing.
Matthew 1
23 Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.
Emmanuel means God with us! This prophecy came true and so will all the others. So back to Ezekiel 48 and verse 35 … why is the city from that day forward called “The Most High is There?”
The only reasonable answer is because the Most High will be there! Just as the previous post shared that God said, “I Will Dwell in the Midst of Them For Ever,” this is what we can look forward towards. We can look forward to the Lord being there in our midst.
God bless you in Jesus name
