Genesis 18 the Proposed Destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah: Nine years after the LORD promised Abraham and Sarah a son who would carry on the family name and the covenants, the LORD revisited. Abraham supped with the LORD along with two angels.
In this meeting, the LORD told Abraham that Sarah would be with child (meaning pregnant), in a year’s time; Sarah kinda laughed at the statement but realized it was no laughing matter. “Is anything too hard for the LORD ALMIGHTY,” HE asked her?
Abraham was promised the son, who would be named Isaac, and the LORD also confirmed the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah with him. It was a back and forth humble way as Abraham wondered if the Judge of the whole earth will destroy the righteous along with the wicked.

The LORD said HE would spare the entire city-state if there were at least ten righteous citizens there. For the LORD to make that statement, all bets are off (Genesis 18).

Principle: The LORD’s Word is sure. If HE makes the statement, we better believe HE will deliver on the promise.
History: Sodom and Gomorrah was a rich, wealthy, economic center, but was full of deceit, oppression, evil, wickedness, and lawlessness. The poor and needy were ignored and left to die, the fatherless and widow were done the same. Their cries reached Heaven; similar will take place in our modern world, the USA, and other oppressive nations.
Prophecy: The child Isaac would be born and will carry the covenant.
