THE COVENANT OF THE ALMIGHTY CONFIRMED WITH ABRAHAM, brought to you by the Kingdom of Priests Institute.

Then God said, “Take your son to the land of Moriah and kill your son there as a sacrifice for me. This must be Isaac, your only son, the one you love. Use him as a burnt offering on one of the mountains there. I will tell you which mountain.”

In the morning Abraham got up and saddled his donkey. He took Isaac and two servants with him. He cut the wood for the sacrifice. Then they went to the place where God told them to go. Abraham took the wood for the sacrifice and put it on his son’s shoulder.

Abraham took the special knife and fire. Then both he and his son went together to the place for worship. When they came to the place where God told them to go, Abraham built an altar. He carefully laid the wood on the altar.

The ALMIGHTY Provided a Ram

Then he tied up his son Isaac and laid him on the altar on top of the wood. The angel said, “Don’t kill your son or hurt him in any way. Now I can see that you do respect and obey God. I see that you are ready to kill your son, your only son, for me.”

Then Abraham noticed a ram whose horns were caught in a bush. So Abraham went and took the ram. He offered it, instead of his son, as a sacrifice to God. The angel of the Lord called to Abraham from heaven a second time. The angel said, “You were ready to kill your only son for me.

Since you did this for me, I make you this promise: I, the Lord, promise that I will surely bless you and give you as many descendants as the stars in the sky. There will be as many people as the sand on the seashore. And your people will live in cities that they will take from their enemies.

Every nation on the earth will be blessed through your descendants. I will do this because you obeyed me.”

Scripture from Genesis 22

15 And the angel of the Lord called unto Abraham out of heaven the second time,

16 And said, By myself have I sworn, saith the Lord, for because thou hast done this thing, and hast not withheld thy son, thine only son:

17 That in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of the heaven, and as the sand which is upon the sea shore; and thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies;

18 And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because thou hast obeyed my voice.

The HISTORY

History: At this time, the covenant of the LORD with Abraham was presented to Abraham. However, with this action (that he took, nearly slaying his promised son Isaac as a sacrifice of obedience to the ALMIGHTY), the covenant was confirmed.

At this point, the ALMIGHTY has now sworn by Himself that He will bless Abraham and multiply him like the stars of the heaven, and the sand on the seashore. This historical event has led many people to what we call “Christianity” today.

The flow to Christianity is done by way of the father of the faithful, Abraham. Yet amazingly, so many today still are without understanding that the promises made to Abraham are for his children and his spiritual children who attach themselves to this covenant.

The covenant also states that Abrahams’s seed will possess the gates of their enemies. And that seed (singularly spoken) will bless all the nations of the earth. We come to understand that “Seed” is CHRIST. All of these blessings came to Abraham because Abraham obeyed the ALMIGHTY’s voice.

The Prophecy

Prophecy: The prophecy speaks much louder to Abrahams’s descendants, especially the descendants of the promise. The descendants of the promise have multiplied like the sands of the beach and the stars in the sky. FYI, they are the Ishmaelites, Edomites, and several others from wife Keturah are all physical descendants of Abraham. The Israelites are the physical descendants of the promises to Abraham.

Through Jacob and the 12 tribes of Israel, the children of Israel possessed the gates of their enemies in the Canaanites and the Egyptians and the Edomites. They also have a foothold on the promises.

The historian and apostle Paul wrote that the children of Israel hold the promises the covenants and giving of the law. These all are part of this prophecy, of this promise, and the covenant was confirmed with Abraham.

It cannot be annulled by any means therefore the children of Israel and all who commit themselves by sacrifice to the covenants with them have the right to these promises.

The Principle

Principle: The largest principle we can read in this section is that Abraham once again obeyed. The principle of obedience and to listen to the ALMIGHTY is such a great principle. The principle of obedience soothes the principle of faith, for one to believe in their Creator through hardship and death, which almost came upon Isaac.

Most people can receive the LORD if things are going well, they can be obedient if things are well. The largest principle we can read in this section is that Abraham once again Submitted. If the outcome is favorable in their eyes people can often deal with the WORD.

However, it becomes a challenge when the outcome does not look favorable to them. In Abraham’s case, the outcome would not look favorable to any man. For a man to kill his only son whom the ALMIGHTY promised they would receive can present a challenge if the principle of obedience is dropped.

The Seed of Abraham

Nevertheless, in strong obedience to the principle of obedience, Abraham was prepared to take the action. This is why there is an ironclad covenant between Abraham and the ALMIGHTY, as well as in between his descendants and the ALMIGHTY.

It is good to learn about this so that we being spiritual children of Abraham or physical can adapt and take part in the same promises which are speedily coming up on the entire world!
