Welcome to Bible Study Ministry.com, an online Bible study for Christians interested in learning more about Jesus within the pages of the Bible. This week’s Sabbath Bible study is titled Government Jobs Available in Jesus Kingdom.
It may appear to be an economical lesson, about jobs, but we thought to throw a little twist to share something powerful the God of Israel has promised His saints. It is probably safe to say that most “Christians” do not know what God Almighty has promised to those who love Him and keep His commandments.
There is a distinct privilege that the God of Israel has promised to His saints if they continue in His Word. Those blessed to make it will become saints in the Kingdom of Christ. We’ll begin by sharing what Jesus Christ will do upon His return to this earth. Once we have established His title and authority, we will see that Jesus Christ will indeed have much help from others in establishing rule in the earth.
Jesus is a Ruler!
Throughout the Bible, Jesus has been called many names and titles, but the one that makes a full circle repeatedly is that of a ruler. Jesus is the Lamb of God. He is forgiving and merciful, but bad teaching has lead many to believe He is too forgiving, too “soft.” Soft beings do not rule with a rod of iron as mentioned in Revelation chapter 12:
“And she brought forth a man child, who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron”
Revelation 12:5. It says this man child is going to RULE ALL NATIONS. Who is this Man child?
“Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem, saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? And they said unto him, In Bethlehem of Judaea: for out of thee shall come a Governor, that shall rule my people Israel” Matthew 2:1-2, 5-6.
The ‘Man-child’ to rule all nations with a rod of iron is Jesus Christ. Yes, the same one from the Bible that took the beating of death for you and I. Jesus Christ is the man child being referred to in Revelation 12:5. It is He that will be named a Governor in Israel.
A Governor is someone who is appointed to exercise authority or power over a specific territory; it is a term, or title, we seldom hear used today to describe Jesus. Jesus is known to most ‘Christians’ as a personal savior.

He is a ruler. “But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel” Micah 5:2. It is probably clear in the few scriptures presented that Jesus is to be a Ruler in Israel upon His return.
He will be a Governor establishing POWER OVER THE NATIONS from His throne, and headquarters in Jerusalem.
In chapter 3 of my book, The 7 Great Lies All Christians Believe…Even the Good Ones, I detail Jesus to rule on the earth. It can be hard to picture Jesus, the God of Israel, and the Creator of the worlds, as a Governor or ruler in the earth.
Do not limit God or yourself with disbelief. Remember, it is written in the book that shares Jesus with us in the first place.
Now we’ll take a look at a few examples thru the Scripture of Jesus exercising this power over the nations: In the following verse, the Father is speaking of what will be given unto His Son:
“Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession.”

Continuing on in the next verse, it reads… “thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter’s vessel” Psalm 2:8-9.
This is an example of the kind of power Jesus will occupy over the nations (the term ‘heathen’ means nations other than Israel). Jesus will dash in pieces those who oppose His authority. All power was given to Him in Heaven and Earth, it is wise to submit and not end up as pieces of a potter’s vessel.
In Psalm 110:1, 5-6 explains to us the authority the Father had bestowed upon His Son: “The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool.”
Jesus Christ sits at the right hand of the Father. “The Lord at thy right hand shall strike through kings in the day of his wrath. He shall judge among the heathen, he shall fill the places with dead bodies; he shall wound the heads over many countries.”
The LORD will strike through kings to establish His rule. It is a tough thing to be a ruler at that time, especially a ruler who is ignorant or in opposition to Jesus’ plans.

Jesus is going to fill the places with DEAD BODIES. We have to be honest with ourselves; the average pastor has never read Scripture like these to his congregation. Things like these are too hard or harsh, in a world where everyone is down in the dumps; we want and need something uplifting.
The uplifting part is that Jesus will keep those who are with Him.
“He shall have dominion also from sea to sea, and from the river unto the ends of the earth” Psalm 72:8. “And the LORD shall be king over all the earth” Zechariah 14:9. The mere fact that this verse states, ‘dominion unto the ends of the earth’, implies that all nations will be subject to the All-Mighty God.
That’s why Jesus states in Matthew 28:18, “ALL POWER is given unto me in heaven and in earth.”
With Jesus clearly exercising this kind of authority and dominion over the entire earth, the next question is, what about the saints? What will the saints of God do during this same time period? It is written in the pages of this great collection of books we call the Bible.
“Sing unto the LORD a new song, and his praise in the congregation of saints. Let the saints be joyful in glory: Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, and a two-edged sword in their hand; to execute vengeance upon the heathen, and punishments upon the people; to bind their kings with chains, and their nobles with fetters of iron; To execute upon them the judgment written: this honour have all his saints”
-Psalm 149:1, 5-9.
This is an honor that all of Jesus’ saints will have during His millennial rule on the earth. This is a heavy-duty scripture. Here is why I say the best government job to apply for is the one in Jesus’ government. This is one that will see no end. All the great kingdoms of the world have risen and fell away.
The Kingdom of the Son of David will be an everlasting kingdom.
The saints go from singing praises to God Almighty, to binding kings and executing the judgment of Jesus Christ. We’ve sat back all our lives to watch injustices on all levels and now God will give us the honor to make a righteous judgment and take vengeance.
This is a true honor Jesus is giving those who keep His commandments and have faith in the Messiah’s testimony a great job.
And just for clarification purposes, these ‘saints’ mentioned in the above verse are those who will have taken part in the FIRST resurrection as in Revelation 20:4-6. This is definitely something we should all be striving to obtain; and you can apply right now by repenting, being baptized in the name of Jesus, keeping the commandments of God, and the testimony of Jesus Christ.
Faith and works together are the application process. Start applying now.
There was a question that Jesus’ disciples asked Him, and it is the same question that Christians need to ask today. “Then answered Peter and said unto him, Behold, we have forsaken all, and followed thee; what shall we have therefore?” Matthew 19:27.
This is a legitimate question that Peter asks Jesus. If we give up or relinquish EVERYTHING in this lifetime to follow the Most-High God, what reward are we going to receive in the regeneration in exchange for our sacrifice?
“And Jesus said unto them, Verily I say unto you. That ye which have followed me, in the regeneration when the Son of man shall sit in the throne of his glory, ye also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel”
-Matthew 19:28.
This is going to be our reward.
This is also confirmed in Luke 22:29-30.
To conclude, the Scriptures outline what it means to have POWER OVER THE NATIONS. At the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all His saints as written in 1st Thessalonians 3:13, will His throne be established!
“And he that overcometh, and keepeth my works unto the end, to him will I give power over the nations: And he shall rule them with a rod of iron; as the vessels of a potter shall they be broken to shivers: even as I received of my Father”
-Revelation 2:26-27.
The government will be upon His shoulders, and His name will be called, “Wonderful, Counselor, the Mighty God, the Everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace.” And this Mighty God will give to those who are following Him now and throughout civilization a wonderful job in His kingdom.
This is one of many rewards given to the saints in the Kingdom of Christ, even as Christ received this power from the Father. Get your applications ready for the Kingdom of Christ. May the grace of our Lord be with all those who seek the TRUTH, in Jesus’ Name, who is blessed forevermore. Amen.
