1 Kings Chapter 4 Summary: Chapter Summaries

1 Kings Chapter 4 Summary started with Solomon as he became king over all of Israel. This chapter really showcases his kingdom and all that went into it. It began with his princes, who were set up, his prophets and priests, the king even had friends.

Solomon set up twelve officers who governed over all Israel and provided food and provisions for the king and his house. Both Judah and Israel were many like the sand on the beaches of the world; they ate, drank, and were happy.

Solomon ruled over all kingdoms from the river to the land of the Philistines, all the way to the border of Egypt. All kingdoms brought him presents and showed him a lot of respect and reverence.

1 Kings Chapter 4 Summary

Both Judah and Israel dwelled safely all of Solomon’s days, and they lacked nothing. Don’t worry that we missed out, a greater than Solomon will reestablish this at an even greater level.

God gifted Solomon with exceedingly high wisdom and understanding and largeness of mind. The son of Bathsheba had a great deal of wisdom and a broad understanding.

The king’s wisdom excelled the wisdom of all the children of the east country and all of Egypt. People from all over the earth and kings from all over came to hear the wisdom of Solomon.

It is now understandable why Jesus was shocked that Judah (not to mention the entire world) hadn’t come to hear Him speak, when ‘a greater than Solomon’ was there!

This is the summary of 1 Kings chapter 4, glory to the God of Abraham forever.
