Thy King Cometh Unto Thee

Depending on your scriptural knowledge level, the title of this post is either common to you or relatively new. It is a pretty important title as it pertains to the world, the biblical world, and even our position in it.

Welcome to BibleStudyMinistry.com (BSM), your online bible study supplement source. Today we’re still exploring the concept of having power over the nations as mentioned by Jesus Christ! It is part of our study topic features, where we study a topic in the Bible one scripture at a time. Let’s get back to today’s study topic!

The divine visionary, Zechariah, had written by the will of the Lord, for the children of Israel to greatly rejoice. The daughter of Zion were and are commanded to give a joyful shout because of some special things going to happen to and for them.

What is it?

They need to become joyful because they will see their King come to them. It is written, “Thy King cometh unto thee,” and their King is just, He has salvation, and has a very humble character.

They will, and so will we, be able to identify our King because the King will come riding upon a donkey, and upon a colt, the young of a donkey. This was fulfilled while Jesus Christ came in the flesh, in His popular ride into the city of Jerusalem during the passover that preceded His death.

In Matthew chapter 21, Jesus was on the Mount of Olives, near Jerusalem and He sent two disciples to bring Him the donkey and her colt He was to ride in on. If they had any problems, they were to let whomever had the problem know that the Lord had need of donkey and her colt.

Thy King Cometh Unto Thee

Then Jesus proceeded to fulfill Zechariah’s prophecy in chapter 9 verse 9 of Zechariah’s writings. We’re not done, because neither was Jesus Christ, who is the daughter of Jerusalem’s King.

Within Zechariah’s writings there is a detailed description of other prophecy the King must fulfill also. This included cutting off the chariot from Ephraim and the horse from Jerusalem, and the battle bow of the nations.

This means the King will end war on the earth, unfortunately the King will do this by allowing mankind to fight each other in big war until they are all tired out. Still afterwards, the King will speak peacefully to the nations of the earth.

This is when the King, Jesus Christ, will implement Power Over the Nations, as His dominion will be from sea to sea, from the great river to the ends of the earth.

So if life is difficult for you or things make you sad how people are treated in the earth, cheer up, your King is coming to you.

He still will be just, still meek, still with salvation, but this time He will be on a white horse with many crowns on the His head, ready to deliver His people from the oppressor’s hand. Yes, the King will be ready to cut the battle bow out of the earth, set peace on the earth, with dominion back in His hand.

Is that exciting for those who are with this King? You bet!
