Matthew Chapter 28 Summary: Chapter Summaries

Cheers to Matthew chapter 28 summary. The chapter began with Mary Magdalene and the other Mary (their words not ours). They returned to the burial grounds of the Tomb that Jesus the Christ was buried in (after His crucifixion and death).

They came to see the body maybe embalm the body. It was after the Sabbath day as the first day of the week was approaching. As they approached, there was a great earthquake that shook up the entire land. This earthquake ultimately removed the great stone that was in front of the Tomb.

The earthquake moved it out of the way. As this was happening, the angel of the LORD actually showed itself to the guards. The guards were there to protect anybody from trying to steal the body and pretend that Jesus had Resurrected.

Matthew Chapter 28 Summary

The guards fell down stone-stiff as if they were dead. This allowed Mary and Mary Magdalene to speak with the angel. The angel instructed them to go tell the LORD’S brothers that He is alive; HE will meet them in Galilee.

The woman ran off excited and scared at the same time at what just took place. As they were returning to the disciples, Jesus Himself addressed them also.

The LORD told them the same message that the angel had delivered, which was to go tell His disciples to go to Galilee and there HE will meet with them. In Galilee, His disciples were assembled in a room and that was when Jesus came upon them and show Himself to them.

Teach All People All Things

Some doubted that it was the LORD, others worship Him. And Jesus told them that all power was given to Him, both in heaven and earth. The King of kings also commanded that they go and teach All Nations and baptize those who believe, in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.

In addition, the LORD told His disciples and they should teach people all the things that they have observed throughout His ministry, even up to this very moment.

The chapter concluded that Jesus told them that He would be with them always, even unto the end of the world.

On another note, the guards were paid off to tell people that the LORD’s disciples came and stole the body. And this is the summary of Matthew chapter 28, glory to the Highest God.

When Jesus told his disciple in Matthew 28:20 that they should go teach people to observe all things that he has commanded them. What exactly was he reffering to.

    Thank you in advance

    • Greetings Sadi Abbey,

Thank you for your question and for stopping by. We take in from Matthew 4:17
17 ¶ From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.

Jesus taught repentance and that the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand. He taught many things about the Kingdom from the start of His ministry; He taught the sermon on the Mount, He taught about giving, prayer, marriage, the law, judging, asking, seeking, and knocking; He even taught the narrow gate! He warned about behaviors not meet for the Kingdom; He taught how Jerusalem would be destroyed and how the last days would be! He would also teach by His own actions and powers.

So we believe that is what He taught His disciples and commanded them to do; primarily to teach the gospel and how to enter therein!

I pray this is edifying to you Sadi.

      Salud
