Leviticus chapter 26 summary details a gruesome warning of a chapter, specifically directed to the children of Akobe.

It begins with the do-nots, which starts with no idols or graven images. The House of Akobe are commanded to keep God’s sabbaths, respect God’s sanctuary, walk in God’s statutes, and keep and do God’s commandments.

That is just the first three verses. God says if they (Akobe) do His commands, He will bless them immensely. The Almighty will give them bread to the full, peace and safety, and establish His covenant with them.

Leviticus Chapter 26 Summary

God will walk with them, dwell with them and keep their enemies away from them. Pretty sweet deal thus far.

On the other hand, if they do not do God’s commands nor walk in His ways, they can expect the opposite, and a harsh opposite at that. God will appoint terror over them, a sorrow of heart, they will sow in vain, and God will appoint them that hate them (the children of Akobe) to rule over them.

The children of Akobe will receive seven times the punishment for their sins. And if they do not reform or repent, the treatment from God will only get worse.

God will bring a sword on them and will avenge the quarrel over His covenant. The rest of the chapter gets pretty intense.

From eating their own sons and daughters to being scattered among the nations only to be followed by violence and violent circumstances and their very own cities being left desolate; it is not a good scene for the disobedient.

Light at the end

If they confess their sins and the sins of their fathers, then God will remember His covenant with Akobe, Isaaka, and Abram. Then God will bring them back to their land and be their God reestablishing their kingdom. Looks like a good old fashion “butt whoopin” from God, in order to keep His children in order!
