Daily Wisdom: Righteousness Tends to Life

Righteousness Tends to LifeWelcome back to Bible Study Ministry, here today we are continuing our daily wisdom postings. We are reading over a few good verses to consume and digest as our spiritual foods for today!

Wisdom is the principal thing, “and with all your getting get understanding!” God bless you this day!

Please remember, it is not everyday people get to study the Word and dig down into what the scripture is teaching us for our every day lives. This is why reading the proverbs are very essential (they are to me at the very least)!

Daily Wisdom Bible Study – Righteousness Tends to Life

17 The merciful man doeth good to his own soul: but he that is cruel troubleth his own flesh.

Having a merciful heart is one of the best gifts God can give anyone who is wise enough to receive it. This is confirmed throughout the word of God, and throughout the world; and is especially good for a man’s soul to have mercy. But those who are cruel, they give themselves trouble all their days because cruelness is also what they receive from others.

18 The wicked worketh a deceitful work: but to him that soweth righteousness shall be a sure reward.

The wicked works deceitfully. They are always looking to lie cheat and steal on every situation. Sometimes they (the wicked) like to act as if they are doing good works, but behind the scenes, behind the smoke, they have a wicked deceitful agenda. On the other hand, the righteous sows good works and they are sure to get a good reward. Why is this? It is because what you put out is what you receive.

Righteousness Tends to Life

19 As righteousness tendeth to life: so he that pursueth evil pursueth it to his own death.

As righteousness tends to life so does evil tend to death. This is very simple, if you pursue righteousness, sure you will have some bad moments in life, however, over the long haul you will have a righteous long life. Nevertheless, if you pursue evil you are pursuing your own death even the second death according to the Scriptures.

20 They that are of a froward heart are abomination to the Lord: but such as are upright in their way are his delight.

If you are trying to be a delight to the God of Israel, then you need not to have a froward mindset. Having a froward or conflicting mindset is an abomination to the God of Israel, even Jesus. Being froward is to be someone who is always difficult to deal with. A froward person is always in some controversy and are contrary to the righteous norm. Far be it from you and any would be child of the Most High.
