Revisionist History for Ammon by Jephthah. Jephthah began a dialogue with the king of Ammon regarding the reasons the Ammonites had invaded Israel. Ammon’s king stated that Israel took their land when they came out of Egypt.

The Ammonite king commanded Israel to restore those lands peacefully. Jephthah then replied to Ammon by setting the record straight. He replied to the king of Ammon that Israel didn’t take Ammon’s land.

In fact, Israel didn’t bother Edom, Moab, or Ammon when they came out of Egypt. Instead, Sihon, king of the Amorites came out against Israel, and Israel fought against them.

The battle ended as Israel took the land of the Amorites and none else. Also, Jephthah asked the king of Ammon why hadn’t he attempted to recover the land all these years? The king was speechless.
