The First Resurrection: a Look Into It

The First Resurrection

Many people are not into the understanding that there will be more than one resurrection of the dead.  The Bible speaks to us of a first resurrection in Revelation chapter 20, which many Bible studiers and Christians are oblivious too.  Let’s take a quick look at what it says.

4And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.

5But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection.

6Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.

The First Resurrection: a Look Into It

Those resurrected at the first resurrection are blessed and holy and will be immortal.  They will sit on thrones and are given judgment because they did not worship the beast or put his image in their foreheads or hands.  They reign with Jesus Christ for the entire Sabbath day (see the 7 Great Lies All Christians Believe), which is the millennial thousand years of peace on the earth.  If you do not make the first resurrection, there is no need to fret.  You will be wakened after the thousand years is complete, but unfortunately you will have stand in line to be judged.

The First Resurrection

Those in the first resurrection will become priest of God the Father and of Jesus Christ.  This is not the only reference to the first resurrection.  Daniel chapter 12 verse 2 speaks about the resurrection to life.  Luke chapter 14 and verse 14 also brings in the resurrection to life and the resurrection of damnation.  This is exciting because with this knowledge, you can work even harder as a servant or child of the Living God, through Jesus Christ His Anointed, to prepare for the first resurrection instead of simply waiting to go to heaven, which will not happen.

Looking Into the First Resurrection

The first resurrection is a time in which many Christians call the rapture.  It is explained in 1st Thessalonians chapter 4, the dead will be caught up, and then those living will be changed.  This is not a rapture as thought of, but it is the actual return of the Lord Jesus and is the first resurrection.  Make it goal to be included in the first resurrection because blessed and holy is such person.
