Numbers Chapter 7 Summary Summary

Chapter 7 of Numbers is the dedication of the tabernacle of the congregation.

It begins with Moses anointing and sanctifying the tabernacle. All the princes and heads of the house of Israel (the specific tribes) all brought gifts and offerings before the God of Israel.

God commanded Moses to take their gifts for the tribe of Levi to do the service of the tabernacle of the congregation. The tribes were to bring tribal offerings on specific days, which the tribe of Judah offered first by their prince Nahshon.

The second day Nethaneel of the tribe of Issachar offered. The third day was the children of Zebulun and their prince Eliab, the fourth day offered the tribe of Reuben, fifth was Simeon, sixth the children of Gad, and on the seventh day the children of Ephraim offered.

It continues on the eighth day with the tribe of Manasseh, on the ninth day the children of Benjamin, tenth, the children of Dan, eleventh, Asher, and last was the tribe of Naphtali and their prince Ahira.

This was the dedication of the altar after it was anointed by the princes of Israel. After it was completed, Moses went in and heard the voice of one speaking to him from the Mercy Seat that was on the ark of the testimony between the two cherubims; the Lord God.
