Welcome to the New Year Sabbath Day Prayer on behalf of BibleStudyMinistry.com and Abantu Kingdom of Priest Preparatory Institute. We pray this to aid the support and might of our Eternal Father to remember us in this hour. And I prayed to the Eternal Father, the Almighty, and made my confession, saying:
“O Eternal Father, great and awesome Almighty, who keeps Your covenant and shows mercy to those who love You and keep Your commandments.
We have sinned and done wrong. We have acted wickedly and rebelled by turning away from Your commands and Your laws. And we have not listened to Your servants, the prophets, who spoke in Your name to our kings, our leaders, our ancestors, and all the people of the land.
Eternal Father, righteousness belongs to You, but shame covers us, as it does today…
…the people of Juda, the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and all of the House of Akobe, near and far, in every land where You have scattered them because of their unfaithfulness to You. O Eternal Father, shame belongs to us, to our kings, our leaders, and our ancestors, because we have sinned against You.
To You, Eternal Father, belong mercy and forgiveness, even though we have rebelled against You. We have not obeyed the voice of the Almighty to walk in His laws, which He set before us through His servants, the prophets. All of Akobe has transgressed Your law and turned away, refusing to obey Your voice. Therefore, the curse written in the law of Moses, the servant of the Almighty, has been poured out on us, because we have sinned against You.
You have fulfilled Your words spoken against us and our judges by bringing upon us great calamity. Under all of heaven, nothing like this has ever been done as has been done to Jerusalem. Just as it is written in the law of Moses, all this disaster has come upon us, yet we have not sought the favor of the Almighty by turning from our sins and giving attention to Your truth.
Therefore, our Eternal Father has watched over this disaster and brought it upon us…
…for You, Almighty, are righteous in everything You do, yet we have not obeyed Your voice. And now, Eternal Father, who brought Your people out of Egypt with a mighty hand and made a name for Yourself, as it is today, we have sinned, we have acted wickedly.
O Eternal Father, according to all Your righteousness, I beg You, let Your anger and wrath turn away from Your city Jerusalem, Your holy mountain. Because of our sins and the iniquities of our ancestors, Jerusalem, and Your people have become objects of scorn to all around us.
Now therefore, our Almighty, hear the prayer of Your servant and his pleas, and cause Your face to shine on Your desolate sanctuary for Your sake. O my Almighty, listen and hear; open Your eyes and see our desolation and the city that bears Your name. We do not make requests of You because we are righteous, but because of Your great mercy.
Eternal Father, hear; Eternal Father, forgive; Eternal Father, listen and act now.
Do not delay, for Your own sake, my Almighty, because Your city and Your people bear Your name.”
Sabbath Day Prayer
Almighty SoNiNi NaNiNi,* Creator of all that is seen and unseen. We lift our voices to You on this holy Sabbath day. We thank You for the gift of rest, for the chance to pause and reflect on Your goodness. From the rising sun over the vast savannahs to the flowing rivers. To the mountains that stand tall, we see Your hand in all creation, and we are filled with gratitude and gratefulness.
Thank You for the breath of life, for family and community, for the rich soil beneath our feet, and for the rain that strengthens our crops. Thank You for sustaining us through trials and triumphs, and for guiding us with Your wisdom. As we rest today, we ask that You fill our hearts with peace, humility, and joy.
Eternal Father, we pray for the enrichments You promised in Your Word.
Enrich those who are poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Comfort those who mourn, that they may find solace in Your embrace. Strengthen the meek, that they may inherit the earth. And fill those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, that they may be satisfied.
Make us merciful, that we might receive mercy, and purify our hearts so that we may see You in all Your glory. May we be peacemakers, known as Your children, and give us courage when we are persecuted for righteousness’ sake.
Almighty One, we lift up before You the lands troubled by conflict and unrest. We pray for Haiti, where Your children yearn for stability and peace. For the Congo and Sudan, we ask for Your protection over the innocent. We ask for justice to roll like a river, and for hearts to be turned away from violence.
We pray for the Sahel, where the land and people are weary.
Let Your peace be like the rain that refreshes the earth. In Gaza, we pray for an end to the suffering, for dialogue over destruction. And for hope to rise in the hearts of the young and old alike. For Ethiopia, let the bonds of unity be strengthened, and let peace reign where division once stood.
Almighty SoNiNi NaNiNi, we know that You are the healer of nations and the comforter of hearts. We ask for Your mighty hand to intervene. To bring light where there is darkness, and to inspire leaders with wisdom, compassion, and courage to seek peace over conflict.
We thank You for hearing our prayers, for Your faithfulness never ends. As we rest this Sabbath, may we be reminded of Your promises and walk in the light of Your love. May our hands do Your work, our hearts reflect Your grace, and our lives be a testament to Your enduring goodness.
In the name of the Anointed Prince, who taught us to love, we pray.
Let it be according to Your will. Amen.
Power be with you,
Minister Koko
