GOD’s Covenant with the Earth

GOD’s Covenant with the Earth: Noah receives a covenant from the LORD and the creation survives through him and his sons.

Genesis 8:20-22 KJV

[20] And Noah builded an altar unto the Lord ; and took of every clean beast, and of every clean fowl, and offered burnt offerings on the altar.

[21] And the Lord smelled a sweet savour; and the Lord said in his heart, I will not again curse the ground any more for man’s sake; for the imagination of man’s heart is evil from his youth; neither will I again smite any more every thing living, as I have done.

[22] While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.

Brief Comments

After the order for Noah and his sons to continue the repopulation process, Noah built an altar to the LORD. He offered up of every clean beast and fowl upon the altar. The LORD appreciated and enjoyed the sweet savor and said in HIS heart that he will never again curse the ground for man’s sake.

The imaginations of man’s heart are evil from his youth on up. Thus, there is no strong purpose to smite everything as HE’d done before. As the earth remains, it will remain. Go away from here knowing that evil will take place in the world; know that men’s hearts are naturally evil now.

Know that the LORD will sit back and do nothing in many cases because it is our problem. However, also know the earth will always remain. Praise ye the LORD!
