Genesis 30: Bad Blood Between Leah and Rachel: Rachel and Leah began to develop bad blood; Leah, at this point, was four children in on Rachel which can lead to the feeling of being higher and mightier. Rachel lashed out at Jacob but took matters into her own hands by giving Jacob permission to wed Bilhah her handmaid (for the sake of having children).

Bilhah gave birth to Dan and Naphtali, sons of Jacob. Leah saw the method Rachel used and utilized her handmaid, Zilpah, who gave birth to Gad and Asher for Jacob. Jacob is up to eight children in a battle of love between the sisters.

Leah got back into the (baby-making) game and gave birth to Issachar and Zebulun, sons of Jacob; she also gave birth to the only daughter of Jacob, Dinah. After eleven children, GOD remembered Rachel and opened her womb; she gave birth to Joseph.

After the birth of Joseph, Jacob decided he lived in Syria long enough and wanted to collect his wages and return home. Laban talked Jacob into staying by working out a better business deal with him. He tried to take advantage of Jacob, but Jacob took note of it and was able to come out on top. He increased exceedingly in cattle, servants, camels, donkeys, and overall wealth (Genesis 30).

Principle: Envy between sisters and brothers can make us do very outlandish things. Partiality may also lead the LORD to show favor to the person or peoples who are being oppressed and partial.

History: This is the beginning of the sun, moon, and stars, the women, the children of Israel, the Kingdom of Israel. And to think, it all began with sisters trying to receive the favor from their shared husband.

Prophecy: The twelve tribes of Israel are ready and set.
