Genesis 12 Abram Leaves Haran for Canaan

Terah, Abram’s father died in Haran, so the LORD commanded Abram, the Hebrew, to continue out of Haran for Canaan. Abram was separated by GOD from his family and people and commanded to depart to the land of Canaan.

He was promised to be made a great nation, to have a great name, and in him, all the families of the earth would be blessed. Abram did not waste time, he departed as the LORD spoke to him at the age of 75; in Canaan, he lived among the Canaanites.

In a famine he ventured to Egypt, he came out of there with even greater riches he came in with, thanks to his wife Sarai, and the LORD ALMIGHTY’s dealings with Pharaoh (Genesis 12).

From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. The disciples asked, “Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel?” And ye shall be unto me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation. These are the words which thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel.
