7 And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so.

Summary of Verse

7 – thus God made the firmament and divided the waters. Now there is a firmament separating the waters above from the waters below. It was done.

Who enclosed the sea behind doors when it burst forth from the womb, when I made the clouds its garment and thick darkness its blanket, when I fixed its boundaries and set in place its bars and doors, and I declared: ‘You may come this far, but no farther; here your proud waves must stop’?

The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of His hands. Praise Him, O highest heavens, and you waters above the skies. When the LORD binds up the waters in His thick clouds, the clouds are not torn under them. The wonderful works of the ALMIGHTY.
