Exodus Chapter 11 Summary: Chapter Summaries

Exodus chapter 11 summary is fairly brief, as it is a brief chapter. It continues the story of the children of Israel coming out of Egypt, but first, have to go through the stubbornness of the then Pharaoh.

This Pharaoh is being manipulated by God through a host of evil angels so that God can lay His hand on Egypt for their ill-treatment of God’s people. After the plague of horrible darkness in Egypt, the Pharaoh was ready to give up, but God had one more mighty plague for Pharaoh and Egypt.

This would be the plague that no matter what, no hardness of heart could follow this one. This was the plague of death which was placed on the firstborns in all the land. This would show that God put a difference between Egyptians and Israel.

Exodus Chapter 11 Summary

The Lord commanded Moses to tell the Israelites to borrow jewels of silver and gold from their Egyptian neighbors. The Egyptians had respect for the Israelites now and obliged to give them gold and silver.

In addition, Moses was a very great man in the land of Egypt and in the sight of all of Pharaoh’s servants. The Lord then told Moses that at midnight the Lord would go out into the midst of Egypt and clip the firstborns who are not protected by their show of faith.

Moses didn’t tell Pharaoh, because he wasn’t permitted to return to him, but he told his servants and people. This is the summary of Exodus chapter 11, glory be to God.
