Does the Bible Say the World Will End in 2012 or 2022?

This is probably not a question you’re too worried about as we sit in the year 2022. However, as I scrolled through past articles on the BSM website, I saw this one, and it was written in August of 2011. Back then we had a bit of a scare the world would end in 2012 thanks to a gentleman named Harold Camping (I believe), and the Mayan Calendar.

The Mayan Calendar ended in 2012, and who knew, a guy working on the Mayan Calendar would take a lunch break and never return to finish the calendar, causing such a stir today, even marking a hit movie, 2012. His associates took the calendar and published it, unfinished.

Now, I’m only joking, but there is some richness to the Mayan 2012 prophecy. First, let’s look at the article back then.

Original Article from 2011

Good day to you, this question was sent in and I have seen it asked online a bit and the short answer to this question is a definite NO! Nowhere in the bible does it say deliberately or passively that the world will end in 2012.

That may come as a sigh of relief for many who are worried or fearful about the world ending. That is fine, but it is still worthy of us all to remain on guard because the Bible does say the time we do not know. There is the parable of the ten virgins in Matthew chapter 25:

1 Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom.

2 And five of them were wise, and five were foolish.

Does the Bible Say the World Will End in 2012 or 2022?

The kingdom of Heaven will be like ten virgins who took their lamps to go meet the bridegroom. Their lamps represent the Word of God. Psalm 119 verses 105 says, “Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.”

These virgins have the light, knowledge, wisdom, and understanding to know when it is time to meet the bridegroom (Jesus Christ) at His return. However, five of these virgins were foolish and five had wisdom.

3 They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them:

4 But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.

I’ve been and am from the villages of Nigeria and I have seen how people there operate without electricity. They need light from kerosene lamps that are fueled by oil. These virgins need oil to keep the lamps burning.

The five foolish took no oil.

The oil is needed to keep the Word of God burning in our minds. We need the faith and the spirit of God in our minds to keep the Word of God there. The foolish virgins did not take oil or enough oil with them.

5 While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept.

Now Jesus (the Bridegroom) took some time to return, the virgins got tired. They begin to make statements like, “every generation talks about the return of the Lord,” or “Jesus is not returning.” So they slept on Him and many did not watch for the signs He laid up in scripture describing events that will lead up to His return.

6 And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him.

7 Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps.

Don’t Get Caught Sleeping…?

In the middle of the night, a time when most people are asleep (or partying and drunk) the Lord cries out through His ministers that He is coming. It is not that the Lord will come in the middle of the night, but that is a time people are not likely to be waiting on the Lord.

It could be daytime but the average person will be sleeping (mentally and spiritually) on the return of Jesus. Once the panic goes out that the Lord is returning, everyone is getting ready for the Lord, they begin to reread the bible sitting on the bookshelf barely being read, barely being devoted to it.

They are shutting off the big game and looking at the news and at ministers to learn what is going on in the world. Now they are asking informed bible students, bible readers, exactly what is going on because it is time to put that lamp back to work. They need light now in a world full of darkness.

Give us your oil…

8 And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out.

9 But the wise answered, saying, Not so; lest there be not enough for us and you: but go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves.

The foolish virgins ask the wise for oil to light their lamps, which had gone out. They know they need to seek the Lord but their understanding and knowledge have gone out. They need to know what is going on in the world today, and with everything going on, the wise just do not have time to share (at that moment) but told them to go get some oil in town.

Now those who were ready went into the marriage and those who missed the boat returned asking the Lord to open the door, but He would not because He does not know them. The most dreadful thing to hear in this world is the words, “I never knew you,” coming from Jesus Christ.

13 Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.

The Signs are Written Throughout the Book

Now the scripture ends by telling us to watch because we do not know the day or hour when Jesus will return. However, we do know the signs to look out for. We would have to read Matthew chapter 24, Daniel chapter 2, 7, 8, 11, Revelations, and many other books to really know the signs without a shadow of a doubt.

So do not be worried about 2012 and the end of the world. The only thing that will end in 2012 is the discussion of the world ending in 2012, not the world. Does the bible say the world will end in 2012?

No!

The world will abide from 2012 to eternity. Thank you for reading today, God grace you in Jesus’ name and Majestic is the Lord God of Israel.

Fast Forward to 2022

We’re back in 2022; here is the wrinkle. Through research and more importantly, the Holy Ghost, we’ve learned the Mayans were a remnant of the tribes of Israel. Research suggests they are from the tribe of Issachar.

All of the sudden, this makes their prophetic claims carry a bit more weight. Further than this, Daniel the prophet wrote the Gentiles would change times and laws. In a powerful sealed book known as the book of the Seven Seals, it was written the nations added ten years to the calendar.

Gulp!

This means, if I do my math correctly (carry the one, move over the… never mind), 2022 is 2012. Could it be? There are a lot of interesting things to look into. And it is high time you begin to look into them and ask your leaders to look into them also.

Or… you can look into them with us IKOPPI-BSM, that is Israel Kingdom of Priest Preparatory Institute with Bible Study Ministry. We will, for sure, dig into these with the guidance of the Holy Spirit, the Holy Ghost, and our Messiah.

God bless, Godspeed
