Daily Wisdom Bible Study – Love Covers All Sins

7 The memory of the just is blessed: but the name of the wicked shall rot.

We respectfully remember those who were just, humble, loving, and abiding, but the wicked just rot away where they were buried.

8 The wise in heart will receive commandments: but a prating fool shall fall.

The wise, they will receive commandments, even the Ten Commandments, while the fool will fall because of the inability to receive commandments, even the Ten Commandments.

9 He that walketh uprightly walketh surely: but he that perverteth his ways shall be known.

My teacher in the Word of God use to always tell me, it is harder to be wicked than righteous. To be wicked, you have to do too much preparation and sneaking around, and you must have a great memory to remember all of your lies. On the other hand, those who walk uprightly can walk surely, with confidence and boldly because they are not lying cheating and dealing pervertedly.

11 The mouth of a righteous man is a well of life: but violence covereth the mouth of the wicked.

It is pretty clear from whom we’d like to hear from, the mouth of righteous; it is a well of life. Do we want a well of life or violence?

12 Hatred stirreth up strifes: but love covereth all sins.

I was once told that the opposite of love is indifference, and that may be true, but commonly it is known that if you don’t love someone, you hate them. The wording use or etymology of the word-term or definition makes a huge difference. In the Bible, Jesus equates love to keeping the commandments. Paul did the same! You can be indifferent towards someone, but still love them by keeping God’s commandments (not killing, stealing, lying, coveting, adultery/fornicating, and honoring parents). In addition to caring for the less fortunate, those are the highest forms of love, and that is why they cover all sins because in doing them, they show great love towards your Creator Jesus! But if you don’t love, you hate and this stirs up strife.

13 In the lips of him that hath understanding wisdom is found: but a rod is for the back of him that is void of understanding.

When one has understanding, you will find wisdom on such person. Those who are void of understanding, they are constantly in error and are constantly being corrected.
