Daily Wisdom Bible Study – The Proverbs of Solomon
1 The proverbs of Solomon. A wise son maketh a glad father: but a foolish son is the heaviness of his mother.
Parents understand this, that children will be what you mold them to be. If they come out anything other than what you wanted, you were not molding well or they were flat out rebellious. The latter is a heaviness in the mind of a mother!
2 Treasures of wickedness profit nothing: but righteousness delivereth from death.
Having treasures from wicked accounts will profit that person nothing. Your righteous acts is what will deliver you from the snares of death (the second death primarily).
3 The Lord will not suffer the soul of the righteous to famish: but he casteth away the substance of the wicked.
The Proverbs of Solomon
God is not in the business of making people suffer. We make ourselves suffer. If we truly put our faith in God, we will be fed every day in abundance. It is not so with the wicked. Who are the wicked? They go against God in His ways, and have no trust or faith in the Almighty!
4 He becometh poor that dealeth with a slack hand: but the hand of the diligent maketh rich.
This proverb plays out in everything; those who have a slack hand (have laziness in their work), will become poor. This is poor financially, poor in spirit, poor in knowledge, and poor in social or emotional activity. On the other hand, those who are diligent in reading the scripture, working, studying, these will be made rich in whatever they do!
5 He that gathereth in summer is a wise son: but he that sleepeth in harvest is a son that causeth shame.
Work when work must be done. If not it could make the difference in the wise and the shamed!
6 Blessings are upon the head of the just: but violence covereth the mouth of the wicked
Blessings rest on the mind of the just, but violence and strife covers the mouth of the wicked. If you’re always telling war stories of fights and skirmishes you get into constantly, you may have to reevaluate your behavior!
