Chapter Summary: Exodus chapter 6 summary

Here in Exodus chapter 6 summary, God reaffirmed to Moses that He will take vengeance on Pharaoh and Egypt. Moses was kind of worried and probably was going to bail out (forsake the mission). This was because of the pressure from the people based on his initial results and meeting with the king of Egypt.

God revealed His name, Jehovah (Yahweh – Yahawah). God also declared the children of Israel will be His people by covenant. This covenant promised Israel would receive the land of Canaan when all was said and done. It was established with Abraham.

In addition, the LORD told Moses that with an outstretched arm and mighty hand, and great judgments, He will take Israel out of Egypt. They will be a people for the LORD and the Sovereign LORD will become their God. They will no longer bear the burdens of the Egyptians.

Exodus chapter 6 summary

Moses reiterated this to the children of Israel, but they were in no mood to listen to him. They were being cruelly oppressed, in servitude and thus they had the anguish of spirit upon them.

The Almighty sent Moses again to speak to the Pharaoh to release the children of Israel. Moses thought “if my people aren’t listening to me, how will the Pharaoh?” The rest of the chapter detailed the heads of each tribe, they were accounted for pertaining to who would be delivered out of Egypt.

The heads of the tribes went with Moses and Aaron and sat in the audience. Moses kept saying to the LORD prior to going to meet with Pharaoh, “Who am I, behold I am of uncircumcised lips, and how shall Pharaoh hearken to me?” This is the summary of Exodus chapter 6, glory to the Savior of Israel.
