Genesis chapter 30 summary started with the problems between Rachel and Leah. Rachel became very angry at Jacob because she was unable to produce children. She ordered her handmaid, Bilhah, to marry and lay with Jacob for the sake of having children.
From this union, Bilhah produced the children Dan and Naphtali for Rachel. Leah observed Rachel’s shortcut to children and took her handmaid Zilpah and gave her for Jacob to wife. Zilpah produced Gad and Asher in this union.
Most guys would think Jacob had the life. But no, life wasn’t easy for a man who wanted one woman as his wife. He had now ended up with four wives. On top of this, he was frequently ordered from tent to tent by the women.
Rachel: “Like, So yeah Jacob, you’re spending the night at Leah’s tonight!”
Jacob: “Uh, Okay!?”
Genesis Chapter 30 Summary
Leah prayed for more children and God heard her. The Lord gave her a fifth son whom she named Issachar, as well as a sixth named Zebulun. Leah also had the only daughter from the tribe, named Dinah. Finally, God remembered Rachel and gave her, her very own son, whom she named Joseph.
At the end of the chapter, Jacob was ready to depart out of the Laban’s house. He pulled a little bit of a hustle that angered Laban’s sons. He was prepared to leave with a great increased in wealth. This is the summary of Genesis chapter 30.
