Bring the Tribe of Levi Near to Minister Numbers 3

Thus says the LORD, bring the tribe of Levi near and present them to Aaron so they may minister unto him. They will serve in the house of Aaron and serve the entire congregation.

They’ll keep the instruments, they’ll keep the charge of all the children of Israel, and operate the service of the tabernacle. That is their job and it is from the LORD ALMIGHTY. The Levites were given to Aaron and his sons out of all the tribes.

You may be scratching your head wondering what does this means or what just happened. Did the Levites leave Egypt to be servants to the house of Aaron? No! They are the LORD’s, the LORD of Israel took the Levites from among the children of Israel as HIS own.

HE did this with them in place of the firstborn that opens the matrix among the children of Israel that HE spared in Egypt. Therefore the Levites became and are HIS own.

Numbers 3:5-13 KJV

5 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,

6 Bring the tribe of Levi near, and present them before Aaron the priest, that they may minister unto him.

7 And they shall keep his charge, and the charge of the whole congregation before the tabernacle of the congregation, to do the service of the tabernacle.

8 And they shall keep all the instruments of the tabernacle of the congregation, and the charge of the children of Israel, to do the service of the tabernacle.

9 And thou shalt give the Levites unto Aaron and to his sons: they are wholly given unto him out of the children of Israel.

10 And thou shalt appoint Aaron and his sons, and they shall wait on their priest’s office: and the stranger that cometh nigh shall be put to death.

11 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,

12 And I, behold, I have taken the Levites from among the children of Israel instead of all the firstborn that openeth the matrix among the children of Israel: therefore the Levites shall be mine;

13 Because all the firstborn are mine; for on the day that I smote all the firstborn in the land of Egypt I hallowed unto me all the firstborn in Israel, both man and beast: mine shall they be: I am the Lord.

“Moses, I have chosen these Levites from all Israel, and they will belong to me in a special way. When I killed the first-born sons of the Egyptians, I decided that the first-born sons in every Israelite family and the first-born males of their flocks and herds would be mine. But now I accept these Levites in place of the first-born sons of the Israelites.”

As Abraham was chosen, and the children of Israel, so were the Levites to be a priest to the priests. In today’s world, we talk about the “Jew, Jew, Jew,” but seldom speak of the Levi, Levi, Levite!

All twelve princes of Israel are important, Levi and the house of Aaron were selected with a very big task. They are the caretakers of the LORD’s house and the LORD’s possessions.
