Why Does the Way of the Wicked Prosper? Jeremiah 12 Reframe; BibleStudyMinistry.com. Righteous are You, O Sovereign LORD when I plead before You. I wish to contend with You; I wish to ask why does the way of the wicked prosper?
Why do all the faithless live at ease? Why are they happy who deal very treacherously? You planted them and they have taken root. They have grown and produced fruit. You are ever on their lips, but far from their conscience.
But You know me, O Sovereign LORD; You see me and test my heart toward You. Drag away the wicked like sheep to the slaughter and set them apart for the day of carnage. How long will the land mourn and the grass of every field become withered?
The LORD Gave His Beloved to Her Enemies
Because of the evil of its residents, the animals and birds have been swept away, for the people have said, “He cannot see what our end will be.” The ALMIGHTY replied, “If you have raced with men on foot and they wore you out, how will you compete with horses?
And if you stumbled in a peaceful land, how will you do in the thickets of the Jordan? Even your brothers, your own father’s household, even they have cried aloud against you. Do not trust them, even though they speak well of you.
I have forsaken My house; yes, I have abandoned My inheritance. Moreover, I have given the love of My life into the hands of her enemies. My inheritance has become to Me like a lion in the forest. She has roared against Me; so now I hate her.
The Pastors Have Turned People Away
Isn’t My inheritance to Me like a speckled bird of prey, with other birds of prey circling around against her? Go, gather all the beast of the field, bring them to devour her. O what has caused this? Many shepherds, yea, many pastors have destroyed My vineyard.
They have trampled My plot of land under their foot. These pastors have turned My pleasant field into a devastating wilderness. They have made it a desolation, a wasteland.
As it is desolate before Me, it mourns to Me; all the land is laid waste, and in it all, no man takes it to heart. Throughout all the barren heights in the wilderness, the destroyers and spoilers have come.
Israel Uprooted From Their Land
They have come to devour the land from one end of the earth to the other; the sword of the LORD ALMIGHTY will devour and no man will have peace. My people have sown wheat but will harvest thorns.
They have exhausted themselves to no avail. Go ahead and bear the shame of your harvest because of the fierce anger of the LORD ALMIGHTY.” This is what the Sovereign LORD says, “As for all My evil neighbors who attack the inheritance.
My inheritance is the land that I acquired and inherited to My people Israel, I am about to uproot them from their land, and I will uproot the house of Judah from among them. Still, after I have uprooted them, I will once again have compassion on them.
No More Swearing by Other gods
I will return each one to his inheritance and to his land. And if they will diligently learn the ways of My people and swear by My name, ‘As sure as the LORD ALMIGHTY lives,’ just like they taught My people to swear by Baal; then they will be established among My people.
But, if they will not obey, then I will uproot that nation; I will uproot it and destroy it,” declares the Sovereign LORD.
Chapter Remarks
Jeremiah chapter 12 began with the prophet speaking to the LORD ALMIGHTY. He said whenever he complains to the LORD GOD, the LORD is always fair and righteous.
However, Jeremiah wondered why life was so easy for the sinner; why are the treacherous happy? It is the ultimate thought process; here you are getting punished for your afflictions and yet others are doing worse and yet they are living it up.
I recall as a child coming to class late one day, maybe five minutes. Another classmate came in twenty minutes after me. The teacher railed on me for being late, but to the other classmate, she didn’t say a word. I remember being upset and confused.
Beat a Man Before Racing a Horse
This is the state Jeremiah was in as he put his complaint before his Creator. Jeremiah wanted to see his nation’s enemies dragged to the butcher for slaughter.
The Most-High replies to Jeremiah at verse five; the Sovereign LORD says if you lost against Usain Bolt, how will you beat a thoroughbred horse built for running? Yep, He jumped into a parable on us.
In our most peaceful times, we still were tired, what will we do when there is no peace? These questions the LORD ALMIGHTY asks for what? In other words, Jeremiah is asking about the enemies, the LORD Most-High says Jeremiah’s own people have dealt treacherously with him.
The Creator Can… Hate
Even the house of his own father have spoken kindly, but have evil thoughts. Therefore, why worry about the nations sent in to destroy Israel and Judah? The Sovereign LORD then lays it plainly for Jeremiah and us.
He has forsaken His house, His dearly beloved of His soul. He has turned a blind eye to their destruction; all of the security guards He had for her were put on leave. Why? It is simple.
His dearly beloved has turned into a lion against Him roaring at Him, calling Him names, and worse of all went to other rulers. The Most-HIGH Creator hated his heritage. It’s like a husband looking at his wife changed for the worse.
Pastor’s Job is to Turn People Back to the Most-High
Nagging is up 80%, disrespect up 85%, yelling and abusive behavior up 73%, and unfaithfulness is prolific. What is a man to do? The LORD ALMIGHTY pulled His security off and called for the beasts of the field to come to devour her.
Pastors and clergy caught the major blame for the fallout between the LORD and His people because the pastors won’t incline the people to return to their Elohim. Now, they will suffer at the hands of the same people and gods they went to serve.
It is like a wife thinking the new man is going to treat her better, but once in, she is abused horribly. I must say, the LORD ALMIGHTY draws up some pretty good parables for us to get the picture.
Gentiles Have to Live Accordingly
The chapter concluded with a warning to all of Israel’s neighbors who began to take vacant land the children of Israel were removed from. He will uproot His people and even the house of Judah among them but will bring His people back to their land.
When back in their land, the neighbors have to learn the ways of LORD ALMIGHTY, Isaiah chapter 2 verses one through five details Jeremiah 12:16.
But, if the neighbors do not learn the ways of the LORD ALMIGHTY, and bring sugar and eggs, they will be driven out and destroyed. It is simple, repent for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand; amend your ways.
We’re Under Gross Darkness
Around the world today, the LORD ALMIGHTY is dropping plagues to get us off of our arrogant plan to serve Satan. However, we are in gross darkness, I pray these scriptures to devolve a ray of light for us all.
Repent for the Kingdom of God is at hand, watch and pray, stay close to the prophets of the ALMIGHTY.
