Am I My Brother's Keeper Had Not Respect

Genesis 4:5-11 King James Version (KJV)

5 But unto Cain and to his offering he had not respect. And Cain was very wroth, and his countenance fell.

6 And the Lord said unto Cain, Why art thou wroth? and why is thy countenance fallen?

7 If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door. And unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him.

8 And Cain talked with Abel his brother: and it came to pass, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother, and slew him.

9 And the Lord said unto Cain, Where is Abel thy brother? And he said, I know not: Am I my brother’s keeper?

10 And he said, What hast thou done? the voice of thy brother’s blood crieth unto me from the ground.

11 And now art thou cursed from the earth, which hath opened her mouth to receive thy brother’s blood from thy hand;

What the seven are saying:

In these seven verses, the story continues of Adam and Eve’s two sons, Cain and Abel. Adam and Eve began having children, Cain and Abel are the first two whose names were released. Abel offered to the LORD the first of his flock and the LORD respected his gifts.

In today’s seven verses, it is revealed that the offering given by Cain to the LORD was not respected. This made Cain very angry! At who? At the LORD? He began to walk around with a very bad glower on his face, his countenance was down and bitter.

The LORD even approached him regarding his countenance. He asked him why he was angry and with a mean facial glare expression. “If you do well, would you not be accepted,” the LORD asked him. “If you don’t do well, sin waits at the door and to sin’s desires and you won’t be able to rule over him,” the LORD counseled.

Am I My Brother’s Keeper

One day, Cain spoke with his brother Abel and it came to pass as they were in the field, he rose up and killed his brother Abel. Not long after, the LORD came to Cain asking about his brother Abel. Cain lied, pretending not to know about Abel’s condition and location; he even gave the LORD a “puffed” up answer.

“Am I my brother’s keeper,” he asked? The LORD Almighty let Cain know He was well aware of what took place; “the voice of your brother’s blood cries to Me from the ground,” the LORD said. The Creator proceeded to curse Cain from the earth; the same earth that opened her mouth to receive Abel.

The earth will now treat him very harshly for his wicked act. Seven verses!
