Study Topic: His Dominion is an Everlasting Dominion

I was watching a minister teach the other day on the subject of God speaking to you. In fact, he shared the least common ways the Lord speaks to us.

One of the least common ways the minister talked about was through scripture. Just as when we read a book by any modern-day author, that particular author is speaking to us; the same can and should be noted in the Word of God.

His Dominion is an Everlasting Dominion

As we’re reading and studying, allow the Lord to speak to us. In this study topic series, power over the nations, we’re looking at how the Lord God of Heaven, and His Anointed One will have power over all the earth.

A great depiction of this power over the earth is given to us in a dream. It was shown to one of our brothers, Daniel. Daniel the prophet, who was a high administrator in the Babylonian kingdom, received great insight from the Lord, which turned out to be really relevant for us today.

…these beasts all represented four of the largest dynasties and empires in the earth from the Gentile families.

It took place in the first year of Belshazzar, king of Babylon, when Daniel had a dream and visions, and he wrote them down. What the divine visionary saw were four winds of the heaven striving upon the great sea.

Four great beasts came out of the sea and they were all different from one another. If we read further, we’d learn these beasts all represented four of the largest dynasties and empires on the earth from the Gentile families.

At any rate, at the end of the age, Daniel was shown as one like the Son of man coming in the clouds, and dominion, glory, and a kingdom were given to the Son of man. The Son of man had authority, glory or impact, and a kingdom, a kingdom that will not end.

Four Great Beasts are Kingdoms

All people, all nations, all languages, and all creatures are to and will serve Him. As Daniel saw all of this, he became grieved in his heart. But in the dream, he was able to speak to the angel; he asked for the meaning of all his visions.

It was explained to him, that the four great beasts are four kingdoms coming out of the earth, but the saints of the Most-High will take the kingdom from them.

The saints will possess the kingdom forever and ever. This is part of the glory we have an opportunity to bask in with the Lord, who will have power over the nations. His dominion is an everlasting dominion and we have the opportunity to have a part in it.

Devouring the People

Daniel wasn’t done, he wanted to know about that last beast. The last beast was terrible and more horrific than the other three before it.

He was told that the fourth beast was different from all kingdoms. This is because this fourth kingdom will devour people, they will devour the entire earth, and just be plain brutal. However, they will be judged.

Their judgment will be swift and will result in removing their dominion from the earth, transferring it to the saints of the Lord. And the kingdom and dominion, and the greatness of the Lord’s kingdom under the whole heaven will be given to the people of the saints of the Most-High.

This kingdom is an everlasting kingdom and all kingdoms will serve and obey the Lord, who will make His servants rulers on that day.

Quite a vision.

We have a chance to do this now and then, to have power over the nations, through the Lord Jesus Christ. I’m excited and I hope you are too, so we can spread the good news together to others, for them to get on this ride into the Kingdom of God.
