The Sun Moon and Eleven Stars Explained: There is a very interesting scripture in Genesis chapter 37, and it has to do with Joseph dreaming dreams. We all remember this story, Joseph being the favorite child to Israel (Jacob), and his brothers did not like him for that. There is a natural sibling rivalry, and Israel flared up the flames by having a favorite.

Nonetheless, Joseph’s dreams are what we are truly after here because his dreams pre-told his elevation to greatness. His greatness would be insomuch that even his parents and older brothers would give him honor and respect.

We are not going to talk about parents listening to their children’s dreams, instead, we want to talk about one of Joseph’s dreams.

The Sun Moon and Eleven Stars

As Joseph kept relaying dreams of him ruling over his brothers, they planned to get rid of the dreamer, much like was done to Martin Luther King Jr. during the civil rights movement in the US years ago.

Genesis 37 says…

9 And he dreamed yet another dream, and told it his brethren, and said, Behold, I have dreamed a dream more; and, behold, the sun and the moon and the eleven stars made obeisance to me.

Joseph dreamed another dream and told it to his brothers. He said, see, “the sun moon, and eleven stars made obeisance to me.” I’m an older sibling and I’m not sure how I’d feel if my younger brother kept telling me when we grow up, I’m going to be your boss.

At any rate, when Joseph told the dad, Jacob knew exactly what the dream meant.

10 And he told it to his father, and to his brethren: and his father rebuked him, and said unto him, What is this dream that thou hast dreamed? Shall I and thy mother and thy brethren indeed come to bow down ourselves to thee to the earth?

Jacob said, in rebuking fashion, “WHAT KIND OF DREAM IS THIS YOU HAVING SON? Shall I (the sun = Jacob or Akobe), your mother (the moon = Rachel), and your brothers (11 other stars) certainly come to bow down ourselves to you (Joseph or Yosef = 12th star)?

At times, people can’t see individuals’ vision, so they rebuke it, but if it is from the Most-High, if the thing proceedeth from the Almighty, it will stand.

Now, when you really get a grip on what Joseph’s dream represented and how Jacob untangled it, Biblically speaking, we have a sign. The Sun Moon and Eleven Stars, Joseph being the twelfth star represent the family or the House of Jacob. This represents the Church of Almighty.

Let us break this down verse by verse.

Revelation 12

1 And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars:

This wonder was a woman clothed in the sun, the moon as shoes, and a crown of 12 stars. Sounds familiar right? The composite is the family of Jacob.

⁵ And she brought forth a man child, who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron: and her child was caught up unto God, and to his throne.

This woman or the family of Jacob had a Son. He was prophesied to rule all nations with a rod of iron. This is the Anointed Son. He came through this family, from the tribe of Juda. We should have a better understanding of Joseph’s dream and its larger meaning and symbolism.

Acts 7

³⁷ This is that Moses, which said unto the children of Israel, A prophet shall the Almighty your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear.

³⁸ This is he, that was in the church in the wilderness with the angel which spake to him in the mount Sina, and with our fathers: who received the lively oracles to give unto us:

Moses said to the people of Jacob, the Almighty will send you a prophet like him, speaking of the Anointed Son. Christ and Moses had plenty of similarities, which we will dissect at another time.

Nevertheless, verse 38 says the church in the wilderness, where their fathers received the lively oracles. Which church began in the wilderness and were given the lively oracles? The church began consisting of the sun moon and eleven stars, with Joseph being the twelve star. The children of Jacob are the beginning of the church.

The children of Jacob received lively oracles while in the wilderness, and the church was established there. The church began with the children of Jacob, the sun moon, and eleven stars (Joseph being the 12th star). Although it began with the physical children of Jacob, it was and is open to all nations.

Ephesians 2

¹² That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Jacob, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world:

¹³ But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.

In times past, the Gentiles were without the Creator Almighty and were aliens from the commonwealth of Jacob. They did not have a part in the covenants of promise. However, now through the Anointed Prince of Juda, they are made near. They can be grafted into the church of the Almighty, and the Almighty’s church becomes a house of prayer for all people.

 

This all comes with knowledge friends.

It comes with knowledge of God’s Word, Joseph’s dream of the sun moon, and eleven stars, and himself also being a star. Through that key, we learn that Jacob and his family was the beginning of God’s church.
