The Jews Aware of the Messiah’s Teachings of Life After Death

During the days of the children of Israel under the Romans, life after death awareness was very clear and understood. The children of Israel understood that when one dies, they remain deceased or physically unconscious, to things going on in the world.

They remain this way until the Lord returns to the Earth. This is truly accentuated by the scripture in John Chapter 11 below:

21 Then said Martha unto Jesus, Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died.

22 But I know, that even now, whatsoever thou wilt ask of God, God will give it thee.

23 Jesus saith unto her, Thy brother shall rise again.

24 Martha saith unto him, I know that he shall rise again in the resurrection at the last day.

The scripture says Martha said to Jesus, ‘if you were here my brother Lazarus would not have died’. And she even had faith that Jesus could ask the Father to do anything and the Father would do it for Him.

Jesus replied to her that her brother will rise again, and Martha let Jesus know she was aware of that. She said “I know.” Martha was saying to Jesus, “the resurrection isn’t new Buddy!”

She knew that her brother (Lazarus) would rise again in the resurrection at the last day. (The reader should review our scripture post about Jesus mentioning the last day four times in John chapter 6).

That last day is the seventh day or the thousand year rulership, Jesus will have on the earth, which takes place when He returns and enters into His Kingdom.

This, by the way, will take place or begin when the last trumpet sounds; that is when the Lord will raise the dead, and change the righteous living.

This all takes place on the last day. The Jews were aware of the Messiah’s teachings of life after death, the question is, are you aware of this today?

More on this in another post, for now praise the Lord through His Son Jesus the Messiah, and bless His Holy name. Also, blessings to you and to see you again.
