You Must Be Just

You Must Be JustIn the second book of Samuel in chapter 23 this is a long prayer by which the Lord God was speaking through the Prophet and King of Israel, King David.

The scripture that is so interesting and vital for all of us to understand today, is that the God of Israel says if one is to rule over man they must be just and rule in the fear of God.

1 Now these be the last words of David. David the son of Jesse said, and the man who was raised up on high, the anointed of the God of Jacob, and the sweet psalmist of Israel, said,

2 The Spirit of the Lord spake by me, and his word was in my tongue.

3 The God of Israel said, the Rock of Israel spake to me, He that ruleth over men must be just, ruling in the fear of God.

Ruling over man begins when one has his own household. In Genesis chapter 3, when Eve committed the sin and Adam as well, they were given punishments. Eve’s punishment changed the relationship status between husband-and-wife and gave the husband the final edge or the final say in a matter.

In fact, in verse 16 after God proclaim then He would greatly multiply the woman sorrow and conception, God also said her desire will be to her husband and her husband will rule over her.

Unfortunately throughout history when we hear the word rule, we get worried and when we hear the word submit or submissive we get worried, especially if we are women.

The truth is if someone is to rule over someone else they must be just and they also must do it in the fear of God. This may begin with one’s own household and it includes the woman rolling over her children and over any servants that the household has. This also extends to business ownership and of course it also extends to government and community service.

You Must Be Just

What does it mean to be just? It means to be fair, not have respect of persons, to rule without biases and unequal judgment. What is ruling in the fear of God? This is to rule with wisdom equity knowledge and of course understanding. It is to rule while departing from evil.

When you have such a ruler over any people, it becomes very easy and loving to serve them and to serve them with all your heart. If this is the case to all the rulers out there, ruling with such a bad attitude or not being just and not having the fear of God is something you should remove from your relationship with your citizens, no matter what level your rulership is.

You Must Be Just

I pray this has help you in some fashion of your life today, and may God bless you and keep you in the name of Jesus Christ.

Amen
