Written with a Pen of Iron and a Diamond Point; Jeremiah 17 Reframe, BibleStudyMinistry.com. It is documented. It is all documented; nothing has been omitted.
The sin of Judah is written with a pen of iron; an iron stylus has engraved and recorded their sin. An iron pen engraved with a diamond point on the tablet of their hearts with the horns of their altars is it recorded.
Even their children remember their altars and the asherah poles, by the green trees on the high hills. O My mountain in the countryside, I will give over your wealth and all your treasures as plunder because of the sin of your high places.
Trust Not in Man and Flesh
All your sins you’ve committed in all your borders will be accounted for. You will relinquish the inheritance that I gave you. I will enslave you to your enemies in a land you do not know. I will do this because you have kindled My anger; it will burn forever.
This is what the Sovereign LORD says, “Cursed is the man who trusts in man, and makes the flesh his strength. Cursed is he that turns his heart from the Sovereign LORD of Hosts. He will be like a shrub in the desert; yes, he will not see when prosperity comes.
He will dwell in parched places of the desert, in a salt land where no one lives. But blessed is the man who trusts in the Sovereign LORD, whose confidence is AHAYAH, the Sovereign LORD. He will be like a tree planted by the waters that send out its roots toward the stream.
Testing the Mind to the Reins
It does not fear when the heat comes, and its leaves are always green. It will not worry in a year of drought or cease producing fruit. The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure; who can understand it?
I, the Sovereign LORD, search the heart; I test the mind to reward a man according to his way by the deeds he deserves. Like a partridge hatching eggs it did not lay, that is the man who makes a fortune unjustly.
In the middle of his days, his riches will desert him, and in the end, he will be the fool.” Section Two. A glorious throne, exalted from the beginning, is the place of our sanctuary. O Sovereign LORD, the hope of all Israel, all who forsake You will be ashamed.
Put My Persecutors to Shame
They that departed will be written in the earth because they have forsaken the Sovereign LORD, the fountain of living waters. Heal me, O Sovereign LORD, and I will be healed; save me and I will be saved because You are my praise.
Look at them, they keep saying to me, “Where is the word of the Sovereign LORD? Let it come now,” they say! Yet I haven’t run away from being Your shepherd; I have not desired the day of despair. You know that the utterance of my lips was spoken in Your presence.
Do not become a terror to me; You are my refuge in the day of trouble. Let my persecutors be put to shame, but do not let me be put to shame as they. Let them be terrified but do not let me be terrified.
Take Heed to Yourselves
Bring upon them the day of disaster and shatter them with double the destruction. This is what the Sovereign LORD said to me; “Go and stand at the gate of the people through which the kings of Judah go in and out; stand at all the other gates of Jerusalem.
Say to them, ‘Hear the word of the Sovereign LORD, O you kings of Judah, and all people of Judah and Jerusalem who enter through these gates, hear me.’ This is what the Sovereign LORD says; Take heed for yourselves; do not carry a load or bring it through the gates of Jerusalem on the Sabbath day.
You must not carry a load out of your houses or do any work on the Sabbath Day. However, you must keep the Sabbath day holy, just like I commanded your forefathers. Yet, they would not hear Me or inclined their ear to listen but were stiffnecked, refusing to listen and receive My instruction.
Judah and Jerusalem Forever
If, however, you listen carefully to Me,” says the Sovereign LORD, “and you bring no load through the gates of this city on the Sabbath day, keeping the Sabbath day holy and do no work on it, then kings and princes will enter through the gates of this city.
They will sit on the throne of David, riding in chariots and on horses with their officials riding along with them. It will be the men of Judah and residents of Jerusalem; this city will be inhabited forever.
People will come from the cities of Judah and the places around Jerusalem, from the land of Benjamin and from the foothills, the hill country, and the Negev. They will bring burnt offerings, sacrifices, grain offerings, and incense, and thanks offerings to the house of the Sovereign LORD.
Jeremiah 17
But, but, but, if you do not listen to Me to keep the Sabbath day holy by not carrying a load while entering the gates of Jerusalem on the Sabbath day, consequences. Yes, then I will kindle an unquenchable fire in its gates to consume the citadels and palaces of Jerusalem.”
Chapter Remarks
“DO NOT PLAY WITH ME,” is what the Sovereign LORD of Hosts, the Elohim of Israel is saying. You can play around if you want to, but the ALMIGHTY is setting an agenda and it will stand no matter what.
Eerily, we are seeing this around the nations today with the wildfires and the flooding as well as the drastic weather changes in different parts of the world not accustomed to some of the weather patterns we are experiencing.
Jeremiah chapter 17 is another plain warning to the house of Judah and Jerusalem to get their act together or the Most-High will have to empty the house. It does not appear like such a difficult thing to believe for the residents of Judah because they would have witnessed the demise of the house of Israel by Assyria.
Don’t Trust Humans (they make mistakes)
It is possible for people to get the idea that these types of things won’t happen to them; “I’m a child of God, anyway.” Well, it happened to Judah; the Father gave away their inheritance, which is their land, to their enemies. He also caused them to serve their enemies.
Cursed is the man who trusts in man (mankind) and not in the Sovereign LORD of Hosts. However, blessed is the man who trusts in the ALMIGHTY. We have to be very careful because our minds can deceive us.
However, the ALMIGHTY will look deep into the mind and He is testing us on all kinds of levels with affliction and even atrocities. We have to trust and be mindful of it all the temptations and trials we will suffer through.
Reaped Captivity and Slavery
Jeremiah then prayed to the ALMIGHTY for protection and for his enemies to be harassed. As it was for Judah and Jerusalem, so it is for us today; we have the option to take heed to the Sovereign LORD or we can decline to listen and trust.
The forefathers of Israel and Judah chose not to hearken, they reaped captivity and brutality at large. This was largely because they refused to even lessen the burden and the load on the ALMIGHTY’s day of rest.
If they were not adhering to the Sabbath, we can trust they were not adhering to any of the other commandments, laws, or ordinances of their Elohim.
Thank you for being here, reading, or listening to this post.
We’re grateful for you and pray you’ve been edified in the name of the Word of ELOHIM. We pray peace, blessings, and healing over you and your household and we pray the blessings of the Holy Spirit for the fullness of the Gospel to be presented to you.
CHRIST came and said, “Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. His disciples asked, “Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel?” The LORD ALMIGHTY said, “And ye shall be unto me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation. These are the words which thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel.
This whole thing is about the Kingdom of ELOHIM. Each of us will find ourselves on one side of His Kingdom, and it is drawing nearer than many of us can actually perceive. If you have any questions, leave them in the comment section or contact us on our contact page.
