20 Wisdom crieth without; she uttereth her voice in the streets:
In the verse above, wisdom is crying aloud, screaming at the top of her voice in the streets, yet barely anyone cares or is listening to her.
21 She crieth in the chief place of concourse, in the openings of the gates: in the city she uttereth her words, saying,
22 How long, ye simple ones, will ye love simplicity? and the scorners delight in their scorning, and fools hate knowledge?
Wisdom is in the chief places of entrance in the world, city, or state, and she is asking everyone that is without her, how long will they love simplicity (as in simplicity that pertains to foolery)?
Daily Wisdom: Wisdom Crieth Without
Scorners enjoy their scorning and fools hate knowledge, unless it is knowledge of evil.
23 Turn you at my reproof: behold, I will pour out my spirit unto you, I will make known my words unto you.
Wisdom commands that we all turn at her corrections, and when we do, she will pour out her spirit to us, and make known her words to us. Then we will know the fear of God.
Listen for her, hear her, and amend your ways before her, and you will be satisfied. Wisdom crieth without, it is for you to bring her in!
Grace and peace in Jesus name!
