What is the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil?

In simplicity, the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil is the ability we all have to enact upon our right to free will. It is our Creator-given right to choose whatever makes us happy. We can choose good or we can choose evil. This was presented to Adam and Eve, to the children of Israel, and to every son and daughter of Adam.

Deuteronomy 30

19 I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:

Deuteronomy 11

26 Behold, I set before you this day a blessing and a curse;

It is your choice; the consequences are yours also. This is why the Eternal Father implores that we choose life, blessings, good, and righteousness. He desires we avoid choosing, death, curses, evil, and unrighteousness or iniquity.

Therefore, the Tree of the knowledge of good and evil is often thought to be Satan and his train of thought (we wrote that in our book A Kingdom of Priests, pg11). We have been corrected in that by the Holy Spirit.

The knowledge of good and evil is what made Adam and Eve as God, “one of Us to know good and evil.” This is so because we, Adam (mankind), can make our own choices based on our free will. And still, because of that (the choice Adam and Eve made), the Godhead had to block Adam from the tree of life.

Do you see that?

We cannot be wicked, evil, and sinful and yet have eternal glory. In addition, we would not need redemption if this were the case. So the ability to choose good or evil is not bad, it is our right. Nevertheless, we do have to deal with the consequences of our decisions, good or bad.

I pray this has been edifying in the name of the Son of God.
