The People Took Counsel Against Jesus to Put Him to Death: Matthew 27 short
1 When the morning came, all the chief priests and elders of the people took counsel against Jesus to put him to death: 2 And when they had bound him, they led him away and delivered him to Pontius Pilate the governor.
The chief priests, elders, and the people took counsel against the LORD Jesus because He threatened their establishment. Whoever threatens the establishment is always looked upon to be discarded. The establishment has authority, especially authority with the people.
Authority over people is influence, whether the influence is forced or subtle, influence leads to money and power. When someone comes along to break the money and power by detracting the amount of influence and authority one has over their constituents, they become a threat.
CHRIST Became the Threat!
The threat is disrupting the money train, which disrupts the power and authority over the people; thus the threat must be eradicated. This is why the Savior of the world was bound in chains and delivered to Pontius Pilate, the governor.
Jesus Christ was going to disrupt the establishment and free the people from the fake chains of influence, authority, and power placed upon them by the establishment (the false church). This is an establishment set up by Satan the deceiver.
