There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. This comes from Romans chapter 8 and the very first verse.
What is it saying?

One cannot be condemned by God or anyone else, who are in Christ Jesus who walk in the Spirit of God rather than the flesh of mankind (just to really spell it out).
Often times, good wholesome Christians use this scripture to justify themselves in Christ and in not keeping the law. Nevertheless there is a stipulation, and the stipulation is that one must walk in the Spirit of God, and not in the flesh of mankind.
Let’s get a quick example in Genesis chapter 6!
Spiritually Minded is Life and Peace
Genesis 6
3 And the Lord said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years.
5 And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.
Once God saw that people would not walk in His Spirit, God knew it would be a downhill slide for mankind. Shortly after God flooded the earth, nearly destroying this creation, if it not been for Noah.
Let’s go back to Romans chapter 8
5 For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.
Those who mind the things of the flesh are not walking spiritually. The flesh is always about “me, me, me,” while the spirit is about God, and God is about “all, all, all.”
6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
To be or become about the flesh is death. In the flesh, all know the flesh will cease to exist one day, but again all are aware that the spirit will continue forever (good or bad). Having the mind of Christ is to be spiritually minded, and it is life and peace.
Who wants life and peace? Let’s continue in Romans 8
7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.
8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.
The carnal mind, or the mind that follows after the flesh is enmity against God. That is, such mind HATES GOD!
Why?
The carnal mind hates God because it is not subject to the law of God, you know like having reverence for the Creator, and love for fellow mankind brothers and sisters. At the end of the day, the flesh or carnal mind cannot please God.
To Be Spiritually Minded is Life and Peace
This is okay, if you make a conscious choice not to serve God. However, if you like to call yourself a Christian, it would behoove you to remove your carnal mind and develop your spiritual mind. It is wise to do this, because to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
