Leviticus Chapter 10 Summary: Chapter Summaries

Leviticus chapter 10 summary takes us to the sad story of the brothers Nadab and Abihu. These two brothers were the older sons of Aaron who happened to make a crucial and deadly mistake.

These brothers allowed the fire in the temple, that was never to go out, to go out. They then restarted the fire on their own, which the scriptures called a “strange” fire before God.

The LORD God devoured them with that fire and they died before God. Aaron was distraught, to say the least, however, Moses reminded Aaron of something very critical. He reminded Aaron and his remaining two sons that this was what God meant when He said He will be sanctified, glorified, and revered.

Leviticus Chapter 10 Summary

Moses also commanded Aaron and his remaining sons, Eleazar and Ithamar, not to mourn the deaths of their deceased. If they did they could die and wrath would come on all the people.

Instead, Moses said to let the congregation mourn his nephews, Nadab and Abihu. Going forward, God spoke to Aaron that no wine nor strong drink may be consumed when in the tabernacle of the congregation forever.

That day, Aaron and his sons did not eat the sin offering, which upset Moses, but they said they would have eaten it without their heart in it. Moses was content with their reply.

This is the summary of Leviticus chapter 10, glory to Yah.
