Has The Bible Been Tampered With? Scripture Says Yes. For many believers, the Bible is regarded as the unchangeable Word of the Almighty. Yet, within the very pages of Scripture, we find warnings, prophecies, and commands that strongly suggest the Bible has indeed been tampered with—not by the Almighty, but by men under the influence of Satan. And Scripture itself makes this plain for those with eyes to see and ears to hear.
In Deuteronomy 4:1–2, Moses warns the children of Akobe (Jacob):
“Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it…”
This was not a suggestion—it was a divine command. Why would the Almighty need to say this unless He knew someone would attempt to add to or take away from His Word? The very existence of this command reveals the potential for corruption, and more so, the certainty that it would happen if safeguards weren’t followed.
The warning repeats again at the close of the Scriptures in Revelation 22:18–19:
“If any man shall add unto these things… or take away… the Almighty shall take away his part out of the book of life…”
This sobering threat was not made lightly.
It came at the conclusion of the Revelation to John—yet again reinforcing the fact that tampering with the Word was both foreseen and spiritually dangerous.
In between Deuteronomy and Revelation, we are given another crucial clue in Daniel 7:25. Here, the prophet is told of a blasphemous power that would rise up:
“He shall speak great words against the most High… and think to change times and laws…”
This enemy of the Most High—widely interpreted as a system under satanic influence—would not only persecute the saints, but seek to alter time itself and the laws of the Almighty. And isn’t that what history has shown us? The changing of the calendar, the renaming of holy days, the erasure or reordering of key scriptural timelines, and even the translational alterations that confuse, scramble, or obscure the true meaning of the Word.
The mere fact that the Anointed had to warn readers not to tamper with Scripture tells us something vital: tampering has occurred—and it continues.
It is not simply that men may add or remove words!
They have rearranged verses, changed names, renamed locations, and inserted texts out of context or historical alignment. Whole books have been removed or marginalized. Many scriptures may even exist in encrypted formats, requiring discernment and spiritual insight to uncover. When Daniel said they would “change times,” it was not only about hours and dates. It was about reframing biblical events to distort the truth and mislead generations.
Therefore, those who seek truth must read with the Spirit of the Almighty. Question traditions, exploring what has been hidden, and remembering: Scripture itself testifies that it has been tampered with. But through study, prayer, and the Spirit of Truth, the original message can still be found. It will be found by those who diligently seek it.
Until next time…
