God Listens to Those Who Trust Him

In the book of first Chronicles chapter 17, the retelling of the story of the children of Reuben, Gad, and half tribe of Manasseh were going to war against the children of Hagar (Hagarites). The children of Reuben, Gad, and half Manasseh were skillful in war, they could sling the sword with the best of them, and they had enough number to sustain in a war.

However, if God be not with a man, that man’s fighting is in vain. The Hagarites were a strong people too, but God helped the children of Reuben, Gad, and half Manasseh and delivered the Hagarites into their hands.

The scripture says they cried to God in the battle. God listens to those who trust Him, and you can only trust when you see an objective and get emotionally involved with it.

They did!

They cried out to God for His help. Sometimes, we have to CRY OUT to God… you may have to get angry, you may have to shed some tears… you have to do something to show your sincerity and faith.

The scripture goes onto reveal that God was intreated of them. Intreat is the old form of the word, the word today would be spelled entreat… and it means to ask earnestly. It literally means they begged and implored God to help them. And God listened to them because they wholly put their trust in Him.

How are you going before God for the things you need and want today?

“Weak and Doubtful?”

Or are you demanding God help you and with a spirit of gratitude thanking God in advance for hearing you!

20 And they were helped against them, and the Hagarites were delivered into their hand, and all that were with them: for they cried to God in the battle, and he was intreated of them; because they put their trust in him.

Cry to the Lord, put all your trust in Him, in His Word, and God will hear you too!

Peace and blessings in Jesus name.
