The Devils Confess: Thou Art Christ the Son of God

Often times good hearted Christians will quote Romans chapter 10 verse 9, which presently says, ‘if a man will confess with his mouth the Lord Jesus, and will believe in his heart that God has raised him from the dead, he will be saved’.

If this is the case alone, then the devils (demons, fallen angels) should be saved. Why would I say that?

I say this because of Luke chapter 4 … in Luke 4 and verse 41 it says:

41 And devils also came out of many, crying out, and saying, Thou art Christ the Son of God. And he rebuking them suffered them not to speak: for they knew that he was Christ.

The devils or evil spirits came out of many people Jesus healed. Before they were commanded out of the body they possessed, they made a fast and quick confession. They cried out confessing with their mouth that JESUS was the Messiah, the Anointed One, the Son of God.

Jesus wanted people to figure this out either by knowing the scripture and seeing His work, or by sheer faith in the works He was doing.

This is why Jesus would always quiet the spirits who were trying to break His cover by announcing who He was/is.

The Devils Confess: Thou Art Christ the Son of GodBack to the point; if the devils confess, thous art Christ the Son of God, then we’d all have to agree that confessing Jesus Christ is actually not enough. After the confession, we all would have to put in the works! We have to put in the works to justify our beliefs.

If it were just a confession, I could print a teeshirt that says, “I believe in Jesus, that He rose from the dead.” I could wear that around everywhere I go and I’m saved.

I could commit murder, adultery, idolatry, and more offenses against God and man, and still be saved like the devils that rebelled against God and confess and acknowledge Him when they see or saw Him.

That doesn’t make sense, so don’t allow it to take form in your heart.

Luke 11

28 But he said, Yea rather, blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it.

Blessings in Jesus name!

Demons knowing who He is is not the same as confessing Him as Lord by us humans.
