Daniel 3 Part 3 Chapter Studies

Peace and blessings and welcome to BibleStudyMinistry.com – today we are going to study Daniel chapter 3, the third segment of the prophet Daniel as part of our chapter studies. We’ll be reading and studying at verse 19 through the end of Daniel 3. Daniel is a fascinating book on historical content, and more vital to the book, future prophecy is outlined in large scale here.

Chapter Study on Daniel 3 Part 3

19 Then was Nebuchadnezzar full of fury, and the form of his visage was changed against Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego: therefore he spake, and commanded that they should heat the furnace one seven times more than it was wont to be heated.

[Nebuchadnezzar must have really loved these guys or liked them because his anger reached a level one could only reach onced they have been betrayed by people once accommodated and taken cared of by the betrayed. The king commanded the furnace to be heated seven times hotter than before.]

20 And he commanded the most mighty men that were in his army to bind Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, and to cast them into the burning fiery furnace.

21 Then these men were bound in their coats, their hosen, and their hats, and their other garments, and were cast into the midst of the burning fiery furnace.

[Nebuchadnezzar had his strongest military guys toss them into the furnace, they put clothes on them to help the fire really quinch these men for their blatant disobedience to the king. They were clearly being made the example!]

Daniel 3 Part 3 Chapter Study

22 Therefore because the king’s commandment was urgent, and the furnace exceeding hot, the flames of the fire slew those men that took up Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego.

23 And these three men, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, fell down bound into the midst of the burning fiery furnace.

[The fire was set so hot, the mighty men throwing them in were killed by the hot flames and heat.]

24 Then Nebuchadnezzar the king was astonished, and rose up in haste, and spake, and said unto his counsellors, Did not we cast three men bound into the midst of the fire? They answered and said unto the king, True, O king.

25 He answered and said, Lo, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt; and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God.

[Take a look at verse 24 and 25 again; if the king’s mighty men were killed at the door of throwing Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah into the burning flame, naturally we’d presume they were killed also. Nevertheless, the king saw something no one else saw. Nebuchadnezzar saw four men walking in the fiery furnace, and according to the king, the fourth man had the form of the Son of God. Here in the Old Testament, some five hundred years before Jesus Christ come in the flesh, we have Jesus Christ! Jesus protecting His servants, and making a statement to the Gentiles!]

26 Then Nebuchadnezzar came near to the mouth of the burning fiery furnace, and spake, and said, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, ye servants of the most high God, come forth, and come hither. Then Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, came forth of the midst of the fire.

Faith in your God will Get other to Acknowledge your God

[Nebuchadnezzar was compelled to call them out of the fire, and acknowledge their God, the Most High God!]

27 And the princes, governors, and captains, and the king’s counsellors, being gathered together, saw these men, upon whose bodies the fire had no power, nor was an hair of their head singed, neither were their coats changed, nor the smell of fire had passed on them.

[With faith in their God, these men were delivered and not an inch of the fire or smoke was seen on them at all.]

28 Then Nebuchadnezzar spake, and said, Blessed be the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, who hath sent his angel, and delivered his servants that trusted in him, and have changed the king’s word, and yielded their bodies, that they might not serve nor worship any god, except their own God.

[The king blessed God, much like Pharaoh did in Egypt when he asked Moses to bless him also; history repeating itself and it will again at the end of this age (the return of Jesus Christ).]

29 Therefore I make a decree, That every people, nation, and language, which speak any thing amiss against the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, shall be cut in pieces, and their houses shall be made a dunghill: because there is no other God that can deliver after this sort.

30 Then the king promoted Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, in the province of Babylon.

[God promoted them, their faith promoted them, and they became even more important Jews from the captivity in the realm of Nebuchadnezzar and the Gentile rule!]
