Welcome back to Bible Study Ministry, here today we are continuing our reading on the virtuous woman here in our daily wisdom postings, and we read over a few good verses to consume and digest as our spiritual nutrients today! This wisdom will lengthen our days! God bless you this day!
Daily Wisdom Bible Study – She Reacheth Forth Her Hands to the Needy
14 She is like the merchants’ ships; she bringeth her food from afar.
A virtuous woman is like a merchant ship, she brings her family food from all over the world, not just the local convenient store. This means she is not a simple woman and she is on top of her business.
15 She riseth also while it is yet night, and giveth meat to her household, and a portion to her maidens.
If there is not enough meat in her household, she gets up to make sure everyone gets fed, even the young girls of the community, she helps them too. She helps her friends as well, the virtuous woman has a giving heart.
16 She considereth a field, and buyeth it: with the fruit of her hands she planteth a vineyard.
Who is buying a field? People buy fields to build homes on, businesses, farms, etc., and this is what a virtuous woman does to plant her vineyard. She is about her business and her business is her family and community.
17 She girdeth her loins with strength, and strengtheneth her arms.
18 She perceiveth that her merchandise is good: her candle goeth not out by night.
She is in shape and ready to work, and mentally she makes sure whatever she purchases is good; she is not going to pick up any old merchandise because it was a good deal! She is also up late studying and working; this woman is doing a lot!
19 She layeth her hands to the spindle, and her hands hold the distaff.
20 She stretcheth out her hand to the poor; yea, she reacheth forth her hands to the needy.
The virtuous woman reaches out to the poor and needy, and keeps her hands working and is not idle. Many people today turn their eyes from the poor and needy, this is not the way of the virtuous woman!
